Just wondering what ppl do to hide their alopecia patches after a shave, i don't mind having to shave my head everyday but, the fact that patches show through after my shaves seems to be bugging me increasingly, please look at the photo and give me any advice you can

I saw elsewhere on this site someone referred to hair powder sold by these people http://www.bumbleandbumble.com/
The person said they were very happy with it and it blended the shaved and not shaved patches nicely. I'm guessing hair salons should be able to get this for those who prefer not to shop online.

I saw a similar product on TV years ago (may be same stuff just not as an aerosol). Seemed like a good idea but I was already beyond trying to blend into society anymore.

Also keep in mind that just after shaving the bald spots stand out more than they will after 1/2hr or so. At least that's how it is for me.

Tan cream sounds like a good idea too.
I have the same issue too. My dark spot where there is still hair alive under there looks like some weird dark blob on my freshly shaved head. I use headblades to shave my head- don't think you can get much closer than with those. I think it is just something we have to live with. Those hairs would have to be removed at the root to make the dark color go away I think...
I havent found anything yet either that works really well on disguising the darker hair patches. Tanning creams to take away the contrast some, but you got to be careful on the product you use (dont want to have noticeable marks from the creams either) I have been using a regular lotion with bronze enhancers.
Possibly the attached forum has the answer posted or you could post as a question. It is a entire section devoted to head shaving and they seem to be a very supportive group as you all are here.

I just started shaving my head a couple weeks. After wishing for a long time I had more hair, now I wish I had less. :) Has anyone tried waxing remaining patches?
I suppose you could wax the rest I never tried that.
Try and get a good tan on your noggin' That should help.
wow, that sounds extremely painful
I suppose it depends on how much you have left. The scalp is actually less sensitive than most other areas that people wax, but the hair is also thicker.
cool, well let me know how that goes, i may try it out myself if it works
I'm going to a place on Thursday. Will keep folks posted. I suspect that I'm going to have to let it grow out a little for it to even be a possibility. Or they may tell me I'm insane for even considering this kind of self-flagellation. :-)
Good Luck!
