I've had AA since September, and it recently turned to AU. I am now more sick than I have been in about 10 years! I remember the last time I was this sick, and it was 10 years ago.

I have a runny nose, sore throat, muscle aches, and earache. Usually when I start to feel sick I do my home remedies (Vemma juice, healing CD, Airborne, echinacea tea) and I'm as good as new within 12 hours. But this is the first time it hasn't worked!!! Is it because I have a compromised immune system? Is it because I lost the hairs in my nose which filter out allergans?

I'm just wondering if anybody else has gotten super sick since having alopecia. I am so miserable I could just cry. I'm going to the doctor later. Thanks!

FYI: minocin is generally taken to get rid of acne, which it does fairly well.

Hello,

I know this thread is ancient, but I was just searching for "earache". I've had SO MANY more since I've lost my hair. What did your doctor say? Thanks!

My experience is the opposite. Where I did catch colds on a normal basis, since AU I may feel the initial symptoms but within 4-6 hours my body kills it. I think in the last 7-8 yrs. I may have had one experience that lasted 12 hours.

Further, I don't really feel the effects of a cold. I may know I have a headache, sore throat, etc. but I don't really feel it. I would liken the sensation to taking Cold Ease prior to my AU. The zinc deadens the symptoms so you know you have a cold but you can still work, etc without feeling all that bad. With AU I really don't feel the symptoms at all (maybe a little fatigue sometimes). I guess this is one benefit?

Actually no , I very rarely get sick. I've had AA for two years now.  And I was told by my dermatologist that your immune system is actually on overdrive or overactive which is part of the reason alopecia is happening.  When your immune system is overactive it is more likely to attack parts of the own body.  Which my AA is now minimal . I've came a long way and am not far from having a full head of hair again.  And I was told regrowth happens when the immune system activity gets lowered , so it makes me wonder that now that im on the uphill slope if I will get sick more often.  Idk can't really tell , I rarely got sick even before this started.

I developed AU in Feb 2017, prior to that I hadn't been sick in over 5-6 years.  I sometimes feel cold symptoms coming on, but within hours, they are gone. Interesting enough, two weeks ago I had hernia surgery, I'm anxious to see if, now that my body has something else to do besides attack my hair, if my hair will start to grow back while my body is recovering from surgery.

I have not yet gone for an examination, but for some reason I have pain in places on the chest where hair grows and armpits. I began to rub ointment from the https://hempworldstore.com/green-roads-daily-dose-pineapple-express... and it helps, the pain goes away, but I began to notice that the hair grows worse there!
