Even haired people wear costume wigs. Go for it. Thrift store, college theatre dept., or costume shop. Some chamber orchestras or ballet companies may have some on hand. Brown-hairs even put flour or baking powder on hair to make it look white, but I don't know if that would ruin a wig. Ask wig shop.

I agree... even people with hair wear costume wigs! You could probably find one for like $20. I wore a costume wig last year for Halloween & it can be so fun!

To answer your question, I've actually always felt a little uncomfortable with the idea of wearing a costume wig and have never done so. As a woman who wears wigs regularly, I'm used to wanting people to NOT notice my hair. A costume wig, by contrast, is generally intended to attract attention. If you're prepared for people to comment on your costume wig and maybe even touch it, then go for it! If not, I think the suggestion of baby powder is a great idea. If your wig is synthetic, it definitely can't do the wig any harm.

All that being said, if the party is just among close friends, I would absolutely go for the costume wig. I was imagining a scenario with a lot of strangers or random acquaintances.
