My Daughter has been using this for about a year now and it's the only thing that has help. We will never do the shots ever again, they were too painful.

Jamie, glad to hear the cream is working! And thanks for the heads up on the shots. It hasn't even been suggested for Ben yet, but I had to figure it would be painful.

Wow, that stuff is still around??

I used that stuff as a small child for about a year (circa 1985-1986). My hair grew back that summer (which I remember because my brother was born on 6/20/86), but by Christmas 1986 it was all gone again. It didn't grow back until I was a freshman in high school 5 years later.

Like every other treatment in existence for alopecia, the treatment works as long as you a)continue to use it, or b) don't develop an immunity to it. In my case, every known treatment for alopecia in existence I have a natural immunity to, so modern medicine is useless to me. Fortunately, I love my head the way that it is and I shave the patches to keep it smooth. I feel that it gives me a blank canvas to experiment with my makeup on!

Hope the Dritho-Scalp cream works for your son!

Hello!
Well, I think the Dritho Cream did it's job. My son's hair has grown by leaps and bounds. We have stopped the Dritho however and are now onto Rogaine. Which is much easier and cheaper to use. His hair is patchy but growing all over and seems to be holding. Not noticing that it is falling out. We are keeping our fingers crossed! Best of luck to you.

Thank you Khristine. I'm sending all my positive vibes your way. Can I ask how extensive was your sons Alopecia, how old is he and how long did he use it? I'm going to bring it up with my our dermatologist who is very friendly and cooperative. However my daughter is only 1.5 years old, not sure it's OK for her. Is it the same with Antheralin? And does it make the scalp itchy? Too many questions...

My son is now 4 but it began when he was 3. It started as a quarter sized spot on the top of his head and by this past fall, it has progressed to almost full hair loss. And yes, the Dritho cream is Anthalin. It did not seem to bother him, although we were warned it may irritate his scalp (whihc is the point of the medicine). Be aware that his method is messy! The cream will discolor his scalp or anything else it touches. We left it on anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Then I would either wash it off with a washcloth or stick his head over the sink and wash his scalp. Best of luck to you and let me know what the dermatologis suggests. How progressed is you daughter with Alopecia?

Thank you Kristine. My daughter has about 90 percent loss on scalp hair, and almost no eyebrows or lashes left. Did you use this cream for a long period? A few months or more?
