I have been without eyebrows for a little over a year - just recently had my thyroid removed (like under a weekago) and am still tossing up wether or not to get my eyebrows tattooed? Has anyone had this done? What happens if your eyebrows grow back? Does it look weird? AND - anyone in Australia have any recommendations of where to get this done?

Hi Martina. I had mine tattooed about 6 months ago. I was a little worried at first how they would look but I figured it probably won't look as fake as the ones you glue or draw on, not to mention the fact that you don't have to worry about them when you get ready in the morning.
The person who did mine, drew them on with a pen first to make sure that I would like them. Then she put some cream over them, I think it was to help with the needle pain. The whole process only took like 25 minutes and I swear 5 minutes into it, I was wondering if she was even doing anything yet because I didn't feel anything. It wasn't painful at all.
I was also wondering what would happen when the hair grows back, but she said not to worry, the hair will just grow over it and you'll have the tattooed outline and you'll be able to keep them in that shape. Right now only a few white hairs have grown back that aren't even noticeable and I mostly just plug them. Keep in mind though that you'll need to go for touch-ups because they will fade and it's not inexpensive.
I am really happy that I got mine tattooed and would recommend it to anyone. Just make sure you find a person that knows what they are doing. You can start by checking with makeup artists and places that provide eyelash service or permanent make-up. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
The funny thing I noticed about eyebrows. Nobody ever looks at other people's eyebrows when talking to them, BUT, if you don't have any or they look odd, then you can't help but look at them. As long as there is something there that looks like an eyebrow, nobody cares or even looks at it. ;-)
