Eyebrows and eyelash help needed
I don't post very often, but I do read a lot of posts, and want to say how much I have allready got help from other peoples posts.
I have a question, I have now totally lost all of my hair and shaved what little sprouts i had off, so now in full time wigs, which I am dealing with as much as anybody can. I am now losing my eyebrows and eyelashes. I am drawing in my eyebrows and luckily my hair covers them, but would like some help on what people use for eyebrows, what are good pencils to use and also what kind of eyelashes are the best. I have no clue how to put them on, so this could be fun.

most natural I think. AND they usually give me a free set like a buy 1 get 1 free! And if I dont feel like wearing falsies, I just use any eyeliner.

I recently got my eyebrows tattooed, and honestly, it was the best decision I ever made. Before, I simply used an eyebrow powder (sometimes pencil) from Sephora & it was decent, but I couldn't go the whole day without it smearing. Now, I just get up and start my day without even worrying about doing my eyebrows! It's great. For my eyelashes, I use false, natural-looking eyelashes from Sephora. They look real, easy to apply & they last for awhile. The glue works wonders, and doesn't ruin the eyelashes. I love them! Like Renee, eyeliner is my hero when I'm too lazy to put on my eyelashes, and people don't even notice. At first, I found applying eyelashes difficult, but once you do it a few times, it becomes easy :) hope this helps hun & good luck!

Thank you both, Jackie, I am wanting my eyebrows tattooed, but can't afford it yet, I am all of a sudden in the wig and eyebrow and eyelash faze all at the same time :( I have looked online though and will eventually get them done. I did look at Sephora and they looked really good, but I chickened out and decided to find out a little more about what the best ones to use were. I am lucky I have always worn liquid liner so I will be ok until I can get the hang of putting them on. thank you, yes you both helped. Renee, I tried to send a message to the website that you suggested and I couldn't send the message, not sure if the website was down.

Jackie, I went to Sephora on Saturday and it wasn't such a great experience. I love the lashes, but they didn't really teach me how to apply them, they just applied them for me. Luckily I bought a second set, as I tried on Sunday and what a mess LOL I think I was in the bathroom for 3 hours trying and ended up ruining them. I went and bought some cheap ones from Sally's and decided to practice with them. How long did it take you to get used to applying them? and how do you put the glue on in a thin line so it doesn't end up all in the lashes. I did watch a you tube video where the lady put the glue on her hand and dipped the eyelashes in it, but I am too frustrated at the moment to try again, will have to give it a few days. Also how do you get the glue off when you take them off? maybe I couldn't because there was so much on them :(

I have had my eyebrows tattooed for about 8yrs now, best decision ever. At first i did microdermabrasion aka bambooing...but it did last long enough and was very expensive. I have also tatooed my eyeliner upper and lower since i also dont have any lashes, I do think it was worth it even thou it hurts a lot. I still wear eyeliner on top since you cant really get the tattoo liner thick enough the way I like it.

I've had AU for 5.5 years now and I stopped gluing eyelashes on after about a year as I got tired of it and developed allergy from constant application. I learned to draw the eye in such a way that people notice only if I tell them and turn my profile to them.
For the eye I usually I do three part makeup: first the shadow, then I draw a think line with a black felt-tip eye marker from Physician's Formula (called Eye Booster 2-in-1 or something) and finally, the very edge I draw with Estee Lauder waterproof eyeliner; it ensures that the edge of the eyelid won't disappear during the day.
For the eyebrow I use MAC eyebrow 'thing' - I am not sure what it is and the label has disappeared. It's a little box with 2 squares - one brown, one light-beige and i - I don't use the light one. It's dense and firm, like firm clay.
I have a very rough flat nylon brush and I draw the brow with the brown color. Then I draw little 'hairs' using a brown thin eye marker , also from Physician's Formula (and also called Eye Booster 2-in-1 or something)
The brow does rub off during the day or with exercise, but there is a brow sealer which I have not gotten around to buying.
However, recently I finally decided to tattoo the eyelash line and I just got through the first round. It's rather pale and I will probably have to do it more than once.
You may not be ready for a tattoo right away, so I hope my advice about the makeup will help. I tried different brands and what I described works the best for me.

I am saving very hard, I will definately being doing the eyebrows as soon as I can. Just wanted to let you know, I called Sephora if there is one in you're area and they are going to do an hour make up session on Saturday to show me eyelashes and eyebrows. I know that the eyelashes are a litte more expensive than the ardell, but really just wanting to learn how to put them on first. I have found a Sally's that sell the ardells and looked up which ones suit my eye type on the ardell website. I am not sure I am going with the lower eyelashes as I wear eyeliner under my eyes smudged anyway, so I am starting with upper first.

I use the MAC brow pencil and sealer. I find it stays on even with exercise. Eventually I will try tattoos. I use various eyeliners. I find my eyes are more sensitive then before AU so I haven't gone the false eyelash root. (lots of itching and dry eye). But MAC products all the way...

Thank you Michelle, I did plan on going to Mac first, the only reason I chose Sephora is because the lashes are cheaper and long term that would be an issue, and they were cheaper with the how much product I have to buy for the make up session. I plan on concentrating on the eyelashes first as so far the eyebrows are working out ok with just a rimmel pencil filling in the holes, they haven't all gone missing on me yet LOL if only the hair that we don't want would leave us first !! I will definitely go and check out mac after I leave Sephora in the mall. thank you

Thank you, for the info on Sephora now I know what to ask about when I go. I will let you know what happens on Saturday, I'm a little nervous have to go with no make up, I guess I will be wearing sunglasses inside the mall LOL.

I use a brow pencil made by Almay that has a brush at one end. I use short strokes and the brush so the brows look more natural. I did have my eyebrows tattooed several years ago and it was a terrible experience for me. It really hurt and then I had to wait for them to scab and heal. It wasn't until later that I noticed that one eyebrow was higher than the other!! Plus, after all that expense and pain, it only lasted a little over a year. After that I got injected with cortisone by my dermatologist and my eyebrows grew back but not as thick. Now, I've decided to forgo the injections and just pencil them in. I have alopecia universalis but, to my surprise a few months ago, I now have some very sparse eyebrow hairs. They at least help guide me in penciling them in the right place. I have never tried false eyelashes but use eyeliner and shadow. I am always on the look out for new products that will last longer and look more natural.
