Hi all,
Theoretically I haven't been diagnosed with alopecia but my hair started to fall out 3 weeks before the birth of my 2nd son and now 16weeks later I am completely bald (eyebrows n eyelashes too) I feel sooooooo embarrassed to be bald infront of my husband (and everyone else - I wear a wig all the time) I'm sick of feeling like this, does anyone else feel the same or is it just me being incredibly vain?

No one is more vain than me, and I willingly cop to this. It's just who I am. So I wear a bonded on hair system and no one sees me bald, but the nice ladies at the "salon."
No Nicola! You are not being vain. This hair issue is serious for us. It's not easy at all. You must try to do things that will make you feel better. You must take care of your mental health; stress is NOT good for us. They say that stress will slow down the hair from growing, so please, if it's just working out at home, do something to keep that stress away. I know how you feel, I was embarrassed walking around the house with all these bald spots, but each day my emotional health is getting better. Nicola, if you need to keep your wig on, do it! If you need to wear different hats, do it! Do whatever make you feel better! We are here for you, please remember that.
your not bing silly at all,i have not lost all mine, but ive got loadsa patches. i have a huge one at the back and can only wear my hair up. but lucky mine has started growing back, but white!!!!
when i 1st got alopicia i was always trying to hide it frm my partner but i know he loves me wiv or wivout hair, as im sure yours does, bless you x
It's true even though I prefer to only be seen with hair, I have heard men say they find bald women very sexy!
My daughter only allows me and her brother that is in med school see her without her wigs. She barely looks at herself in the mirror until she gets the wig on. Then she is all smiles and feels beautiful again. This is the way she copes. She only changes her wig every 2-3 days. I can tell you as a mom she is beautiful with or without the wig so your husband would probably feel the same way. It is a matter of what you are comfortable with.
You are not alone....I am having the same issues. But I can't stand my wig all the time because of scalp pain. I think it is very natural because it is a part of us. Hugs and prayers.
