I have a Freedom wig.  I just received it two weeks ago.  10 inch one.  I went to Ft. Lauderdale to have it styled for $375 and it doesn't look any different.  I like the back ok, but the front hangs in my face and I don't like that.  I'm looking at a place in Tampa to try. Much much less expensive.  The hair on on a Freedom is absolutely gorgeous.  I was told that constant heat use will damage the hair.  So one has to be mindful of that.  Long story short I like the wig.  It is difficult to learn how to put it on.  It's very expensive and when the time comes for you to send it for repair, that is $800.  If I had it to do over again, I would have opted for a shorter one.

I am IN LOVE with my Follea Gripper sport wig . I use to be a Freedom wig wearer  ( wore them for over 10 years ) they were the only thing i really knew when it came to wigs and because it was all i knew, i was really hesitant in trying anything different specially when spending soooo much money . The thought of getting something that i didnt or wouldnt stay on scared the crap out of me . But i finally got the courage up and purchased my Gripper sport wig over 3 years ago and its really been amazing ! i have never had to have a repair on it and it has so much wear left in it and its the only wig i wear and wear it every day without fail. My freedom wigs would really need some sort of repair by having more hair added by the 12 month mark as the hair loss would be really noticeable !!

I had really high expectations when it came to trying something different from the freedom wigs and im so glade i took that step as the hair quality is amazing , it looks soooo natural ( far more natural than my freedom ) and its stays on like a dream and worth every sent i spent on it .

Thanks for your note - do you actually swim in the sport wig?  And does all that "gripping" give you any headaches?  I find even with my ordinary wigs the compression can give me a headache after a few hours.

The gripper wig doesn't grip your head any more tightly than a normal wig.  It just has silicone to stick to your scalp.  Personally, I don't like wearing silicone -- I find it uncomfortable on my head (feels hot and slippery when I sweat).

I don't regularly swim in my Gripper because I try to be very careful with it to persevere its life but I have been like that with all my wigs including my Freedoms .

I would say with both wigs ( Gripper & Freedom ) you are ABLE to swim with them on but it's not like you can jump off the side of the pool and do a bomb with out it coming off . They work on a suction or seal . You can go in the pool or to the beach with them but you have to be careful. I can remember one time I nearly lost my freedom when a wave hit me at the beach when i wasn't ready for it .And my husband had to chase it before I lost it to the sea !
With both wigs (I feel like my Gripper did a better job at staying on in and under the water but you still have to be careful ) you CAN go under the water but if your not careful it will come off .

I haven't had any headaches with either my Gripper or Freedom Wigs as it doesn't stay on because it's tight , it stays on as the silicon works almost acts like a seal . If your Gripper does give you a headache ,It would have to far too small for you as you shouldn't even notice your even wearing it and the same goes for the Freedom wigs as they should be made custom to your size (not always the case though ) .
I felt with the Freedom it was very hot to wear specially in Australian summers but with my Gripper sport I could feel the breeze through to
My scalp . I haven't tried the Gripper cool but I am told that it's even better than the sport when it comes to heat but In all honesty The Gripper sport was great and I don't feel the need to try the Gripper cool when i purchase my next piece !

Ohh
I've purchased from hallucinating hairlines. I also purchased the option for a silicone backed security band. It really gives that grip. Their hair is virgin too. I only paid £250 for mine an it came styled. I have tried follea but the hairline just doesn't look natural it means I have to wear a fringe. With the wig im wearing now I could tie it up. I'm chuffed

oh wow !!! i have never herd of them .

and you say they are virgin hair ? do you get any matting of the hair. Is it wefts in the back or all hand tied ?

Wanted to add: If it's at all possible, you should try these wigs on before you buy because both are a significant investment.  You want to make sure that the cap is one that fits and feels good on you, that the hair density is to your liking, etc., etc.  Sometimes, trying a wig on is not geographically possible -- there's just not a retailer near you.  But if there is, absolutely go try on first.  Follea has a number of retailers around the world.

I've never worn a Freedom Wig; my scalp gets hot easily, and I know that a Freedom Wig would not be a good solution for me.  My first human hair wig was a Follea, but I found the hair to be rather flat on top. I've had silicone in wig caps before, and it's been okay, but slippery when I sweat.  (Not a deal breaker - there was never any major movement of the wig.  I could just feel that the silicone was sweaty and I didn't like that, so I decided to avoid silicone in my latest piece.)  

In terms of synthetics -- same thing.  You want to try first if possible.  I've tried plenty of synthetics, and have learned through trial and error exactly which ones work well for me in terms of comfort, quality, and durability (Amore, Amy Gibson Cyberhair, and Amy Gibson Water Wig).  I always get them professionally cut so that they "fit" my face.

There are a lot of options out there, and it can be a bit of a journey to find what's right for you.
