Follea...how long do they last?

I am very interesed in this system. I ahve a few questions

1. how long do they last?

2.can u wear a ponytail?

3.price?

the prices ive seen and heard i would hope you can get a couple years out of them

Hi Jeannine,
I have had clients have wear their Gripper Cool for 3 years this piece can be repaired. She takes really good care of her Gripper. She told me she also has gone swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. Yes, you can wear in a pony tail. The gripper fits at the natural hairline. The color and the Length will determine the cost. For that information call me at 850-712-3369 or email at cwestgb@aol.com

Is this Virgin European hair? Or what kind? The color is exactly the color I would need, but it would seem to be processed (dyed) hair and maybe not last as long, or wear as well. And he cost? Yes, I am also concerned about the care one must take in washing this hair. Most hair will look nice when you first get it, problem is, the person buying it has to wash it by themselves....disaster.??

Hi Carmen

I would like some information about swimming in Grippers. I have watched the dvd on how to wash a gripper and it is very clearly stated that you have to be careful with tangling and mindful of the knots (holding the hair in place) undoing (NO shampoos and conditioners close to the knots and plenty of rinsing in the right direction so tangling doesn't occur). I also understand from the website that most Grippers use processed hair, which could cause issues with tangling (hence the need to be careful when you are washing the hair)). Do these things not happen when you swim in a gripper???

Hi Rose Marie,

I do have clients swim in their Grippers. Now after saying that, we know that the salt and chlorinated water is not good for growth hair as well as human hair prosthesis. If one must there are several things that can be done to protect the hair piece. First, hair should be wet before entering water.
Second, add conditioner to the ends and half way down the hair and comb through the whole piece.
Third, don't let your hair dangle in the water. Put up in pony tail or clip up on the back of your head. (chlorinated water can discolor the hair)

I agree with what you are saying chlorination and salt are harsh on hair...that is a given. :) With the Gripper processed hair would have extra issues with tangling etc., but even the very best hair available (your own growing hair) would have similar issues. I also think there would be issues with knots undoing etc. and it would pay people to be aware of that.

Your third explanation... are you able to go under water and still keep the security with a 'Gripper'. Silicone when wet can become quite 'slick' and doesn't create great security unless it is an extremely accurate fit. Your explanation sounds like it is better to swim above the water with your 'Gripper' am I understanding that right???

Hi Rose Marie,

I am giving the information that I get from my clients that do swim in the Gripper. Not one of them have complained about knots or tangling when the get out after the swim. I do sugest that all hair should be shampooed and conditiond after the activity. The last lady said she went down the slid with her daughter and her gripper sport stayed on. She was soooooo happy!

i just wish insurance would help me.....I hate this! My poor scalp is so irrated from the tape it iches all night and day.It stinks after i work out! it melts in the sun but im stuck with it. I cry everyday when i look in the mirror.

I have a question for you, Rose Marie. This is a thread for FOELLA wigs, correct? Why are you leaving negative comments? I have not been here long but it seems you swoop in on all the wig threads and creatively push Freedom Wigs. I guess business slow. It is very distasteful indeed and I would never purchase a Freedom Wig, I don't like this bashing it is very unprofessional.

My view on all wig threads is for all information to be out and openly discussed. The best interest of all is for everything to be as open as possible. If you would like to look back over threads for Freedom and Follea you will see there is information on both hair choices on threads pertaining to both wigs. Carmen in particular in the past has been very forthright with her opinions on Freedom threads...I appreciate her input even though I don't agree.

In this thread I had information that Follea 'Grippers' could not be used for swimming. As Carmen sells Grippers I felt she was the best person to ask. I think most would find the information put forward helpful.

The good thing about this site is you are allowed an opinion... I believe your opinion is as appropriate as any other.
