For the people with AU/ AT:

A few questions to the AT/ AU's: Did you experience regrowth at some point in life? if so: after how many months, years did your hair return? What where the symptoms when it happened (itchy scalp or other). How much % regrowth on your head/ face/ body? And when it fell out again, did something specific happen? (traumatic event/ change of diet supplements/ because it came back together with another auto-immune ailment like eczema etc.?

i have AT and i experienced regrowth twice once for 12 years and second time for 6 years, i had 100% regrowth at the first time in my scalp the second time i had around 80% + beard and some part of the body (chest, legs, under arms) and now its starting to regrow again i suppose cuz i saw some hair in my eyelash but to be honest i hope it dont grow, cuz  i hate this changing everything going thru this

Hi.I've been living with AU for 13 years now. I experienced some regrowth a year after but the hair was fine and just fell out again. Since then there hasn't been any regrowth or fall out.

I have had AU for 3 years now. NO regrowth at all..but I refuse to give up hope!

I've had AA since I was 12 and AU since a few years after that.  I'm 45 now.  Since I got AU, I've had basically no hair growth.  Sometimes, an odd follicle of hair will appear, and there's a few hairs on a few of my toes, but that's about it.  I've never used a razor in my life.  If I started growing hair tomorrow, I'd be at a loss as to how to shave.  What type of razor do I get? What type of gel? I have no idea about these things.  I wear a wig.  On the flip side, I guess I appear younger than I am, as I still get carded several times a year.  My face has no pock marks or anything like that.

Ages 10-20: AA
Regrowth ages 20-35, then after use of birth control pills for only three weeks, hair started to fall out again. Also possibly caused by having furry pets for my family, even though my age 10 dermatologist had said I was allergic to animal fur.
Stressful emotional incident resulted in AU between Thanksgiving and June. I was 42.
Eyebrows are sparse now, eyelashes are long, body hair is minimal, and a ring of only white, soft hair circles my head (I used to be brunette). I just wear wigs now. Almost 64. No other skin problems.
