My daughter uses swiss lace with the silk top. It is softer and more natural looking. You just have to be more careful with it because it is more delicate. She has not had any real problems with it.
I understand that Swiss lace is suppose to look more natural but I have only worn French lace and it looks quite natural too. I chose french because it is more durable than Swiss and I was fearful of the lace getting damages with regular use.
I think that one of her first wigs was a french lace cap. We have been very happy with her swiss lace with silk top caps. They are comfortable to her, she is able to sleep in them.
After silk mono top was invented the natural look of Swiss lace became obsolete. French lace and silk top is the way to go. With silk mono top you don't see lace anyway.
