Hello,

i got my first full lace wig in the mail today. i had been waiting for months so i was really excited. I had a bit of trouble getting it to stay on. It lifted at the back and sides after only a few hours. I got a tiny bottle of spirit gum free so that's all i used. I was wondering if anyone know any magic tricks. I searched the internet and saw that some people use tape and then glue .. or just tape. I dont have much hair so i was thinking of shaving it all off tomorrow and then applying mass amount of tape all over my head and glue on the sides. I love my new hair and want to wear it in a high bun without people knowing. Any tips?

My daughter tapes the entire perimeter with super tape. She buys it on ebay. It was trial and error with her finding the right product that sticks. She wears them for 3 days before changing them. She sprays alcohol under the tape to release it.
i tried that before work today and actually managed to put my hair on crooked and then have my fringe funny all day. Geez this is a big learning curve. I have a bit of trouble with the tape at the back but i'm sure i'll get better at it. Thanks.
It took an hour the first time that we did it. It now takes about 15 minutes or less. The good thing is the wig can be styled before it goes on so this is the only thing you have to do to your hair.
Hi!

I think your new hair looks great!!

I've worn bonded toppers for the past 18 years. I've always used super tape for sides & back, and a non-waterbase liquid adhesive for the front hairline area. I'm switching now to full cap lace wigs as my hairloss has progressed and I just can't get the toppers to look decent anymore.

The key, in my opinion, to getting tape to stick to your scalp is to have your scalp spotlessly clean and oil free where the tape will be attached. Once all the traces of old tape/glues are gone, use a scalp scrub to exfoliate, then a mud type product to pull the oils out. Spray your scalp with an alcohol spray to get it squeaky clean. Then apply your hair system.

Hope that helps!!

Thanks KC.

I've been rubbing alcohol on it and will try and get something "muddy". it's so itchy having all the lace and glue on my scalp. I think summer is going to be a nightmare!
I wish I had tips for you, but you look awesome in the wig....where did you get it, how much was it, what kind of hair is it, you know, all the usual questions everyone has!!! We are all such pests!! Sorry....It looks so nice. I take it the entire wig is all lace, I would like one with a stretch back. Just because I don't want to really deal with all the tape. What kind of top does it have, silk ?? You look incredible...
Oh, girlfriend, I have Ophasias or however you spell the damn thing, as well!!! Welcome to my world....
I got it from this guy http://ba-hairapparent.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=63&Itemid=90&lang=en . He was really helpful and there is a forum on his website so you can ask other people questions too. It looks like it's all men but he does stuff for women.
This one is just a stock piece but i've ordered a custom too. I think it's a full lace with stretch base, or top?
I don't even know what kind of hair it is! it cost me about $250 (au) including postage. From what i can gather his prices are pretty reasonable.
