Grey Gardens on HBO...

This is a movie based on a documentary about Edie and Little Edie Beal.

Little Edie suffered from Alopecia. Has there ever been anything in film with a character who has alopecia??? I was a little bit happy to see that her alopecia is not going to be glossed over.

Yeah, I was watching some of the behind the scenes on On demand and the people behind the making of Grey Gardens were talking about how Little Edie had alopecia and what she used to put over her head. They also commented that she never went without anything over her head cause she didn't want anyone to see her.

In the clips of the orginal documentary, she is filmed wearing a towel with a fancy pin holding it on, scarfs and Drew Barrymore who plays Little Edie said that she also wore shirts with the sleves tied around her head.

I finally saw this movie this week. I was curious how the silk scarves were actually clipped with the pins on Barrymore's head - they seemed not to move very much. Any ideas?
