hair extension experiences
hii everyone. i'm brand new here. i'm missing about 70% of my hair count at this point (which was already superthin before being diagnosed!), including any feasible way to style my hair to hide my patches and bald spots. soooo, i am very seriously thinking of getting some extensions put in, if only to allow me to style my hair in ways to conceal my spots.
i saw a thread about this through the search, but it was very old and there were only a few responses. so i am hoping to get this discussion started again!
i love everyone here already. this has been a rather un-fun period of my life, but knowing that there are others out there truly helps.

I bought hair extensions and they have SAVED me for the last 8 months. I paid about $150 and got 8 pieces: 4 shorter side pieces and 4 wider pieces for the back of the head. They were matched exactly to my hair color and they were made of real hair. It is impossible to tell I'm wearing them unless I tell.
I would highly recommend you get the ones that you can clip in and out. These work out better because you can move them around depending on where you bald spots are. Another huge thing is that the clips ins will still be around if your hair falls out, vs the ones that are put directly into your hair. Another great thing is that as long as you maintain them, you can have them for a very long time! Your friends might even ask to borrow them!
Without my hair extensions, I honestly don't know what I would have done for the past 8 months. I hope that helps out! Feel free to message me if you have any more questions!
