I'm nervous about taking a hair drug test for a new job! Has anyone ever took a hair follicle drug test with alopecia before?

I think sampling might be an issue!

Yeah..

I did.. they took one of the few hairs i had left.. LOL!!

When i had it done, they just took a couple of strands, and  it was over. No biggie.

Goodness! What job is it?? A drug test! Clearly from my response, I have never had that indignity. However, I cannot see there would be any issue as they will only take one hair I assume.

Sorry - pretty useless post from me! I am just surprised. Hope you get better informed ones!

I used to collect drug screens and hair follicle testing. If you have any hair at all we always took it from the back underneath so it doesn't show and our guide was about a pencil sized area. We also shaved arms, legs, chests from bald men. I would hope your employer could make an exception for you if none of that is possible and do a urine test instead. A urine test can show 3 mos of drug activity (mostly Marijuana) but hair follicles can go back much longer. In your case if you have lost all hair I'd say they would do the urine test instead.
I did, for Dell. Once the lab realized that I didn't have ANY hair to collect, they had to call Dell's headquarters for further instructions. They had no choice but to do the urine test. They couldn't disqualify me from employment for not taking the test they wanted, because it would have been considered an ADA violation. You may also have to do the cheek swab as an alternative as well.

Hope this helps!
Yes I did. I told HR and the administered a urine test instead.
Well I'll talk to HR but that's embarrassing because I wear wigs and I don't really feel comfortable just revealing everything to everyone!!!!

What product they  be using ? and does it have side effects?
