Hi all,
Just to give you a little bit of a back story, I started losing my hair when I was about 13 years old and my doctor diagnosed me with alopecia universalis (no hair on my body at all). We tried everything from steroid creams to cortisone injections into my scalp to try to stimulate the hair folicles, but to no avail. It is now 9 years later and I'm going into my final year in college and, as much as one never truly gets over a psychologically traumatic event such as losing their hair at 13, I feel like I've moved on from it as much as I could.
I was recently hanging out with some friends and one thought he saw little hairs growing. I brushed him off, thinking he was just being a jerk. However, when I went to the restroom, I looked in the mirror as I was washing my hands and saw that he was actually telling the truth. I have some little white hairs growing on my scalp but nowhere else (not even eyebrows). The hairs are also so small and thin that you can't even feel them.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I can't help but get my hopes up but I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
