My alopecia only affects the crown of my head and that's the only place that my hair is thinning, so I don't want to get a full sized wig. Does anyone have experience with wearing hairpieces that just cover their crown?

I would love advice on what to look for and tips on shopping for and wearing them.

Thanks so much,
Adrian

Thanks Alice, that does help a lot.
For a more permanent solution, look into hair integration systems
How does something like that work?
Hair is adhered to the bald spots by a salon that specializes in hair restoration, and your own hair is integrated into the human hair addition. It's basically a bonded on hair system that only gives coverage where you need it!
Very cool, thanks for the explanation!
go to xquizitehair.net the piece u want would be a frontal and it only hides the front hair looks natural and the crown u could probaly clip it in u could get virgin european texture to match ur hair! i wish i would have found that before i cut my hair lol but im sure u would love that click the wefts and frontal link
Adrian. Our stylist who specializes in hair replacement sews the pieces into your own hair. One just needs to get it resewn every 6 weeks or so as your hair grows. Blends really nicely. U can do it with or without bangs. Look into it. :)
Cindy, where is your stylist located?
Do you have a website I can go to?
Oh thanks for replying. Upstate NY. She's cool and modern. Love her. She gets a lot of her pieces from follea which has beautiful human hair. U can Google follea and find the closest rep from their. 1-800 # .That's how I found ours. I am sure Richmond has someone. Look into a place that does hair extensions.its probably a perfect option for u.
Hi again. Looked at your profile. Love what i saw of your website. I went to school at mcv undergrad and grad. Loved Richmond. Grew up in Fairfax. Live in upstate NY x 20 yrs. Am going to check out your blog later. I friended u but don't know if it went thru
