Hair shedding

I was recently diagnosed with AA and have been getting steroid injections every month for the past 3 months, however my hair is still rapidly falling out around the bald patch. I am starting to get white thin regrowth in the bald patch where I have gotten the injection but still have heavy shedding. Has anyone else experienced this?
