Hi, I'm Lyndsey!

I've added you as a friend. I'm a little older than you, I am 23 but I first had alopecia at the age you are now and I have been through the stuff that's probably going on in your near future such as boyfriends, school, college etc with alopecia so I can relate. I'm also from the UK! So feel free to message me if you ever want to chat. xxx

Hello there Minny Mouse

I am in the UK like you, I am a 51 year old woman, I think you might fubd it helpful to check out the Alopecia UK website. They have info on there for teenagers in the UK. I go along to a support group once a month. They have support groups you can go to all over the UK. It is very friendlt, we have a coffee and biscuits and just chat about how we feel and share advice. Your mum or dad could go to a meeting on your behalf if you don't fancy it.

The Alopecia UK charity held a big conference in London on 13/14 September, they will do it agsin next year. There were fun things to do. As a young person you may find that a nice event to go to next year.

You are doing the right thing using online forums to contact other people with alopecia, I find this forum really great.

Thank you for your help. I'm not sure about going to groups because i am still quite shy about my alopecia and only my family and closest friends know. Thank you anyway :)

Hi again Minnie, I understand you not wanting to go to a support group, it is just something in the future you might find helpful. I only tell my family and my very closest ofriends about my alopecia. I also tell boyfriends, they have been ok with it. You must do what feels right for you. Take care, best wishes, Deb

Thank you :)
