I am three days in to wearing my first wig that I paid $400 for and it looks so fake! I tried washing it, adding conditioning spray,... Why is it doing this? I am so upset. I was so happy leaving the shop and now it looks horrible. It is a Raquel Welch full synthetic. HELP seriously please!

Synthetic wigs sometimes are hard to use. I'm using a Jon Renau synthetic, long, but it's too shine, natural hair doesn't have this shine, and it lost the movement too fast, the fiber get thick. I think you should take the wig back to where you bought it, maybe they can help you, and use proper products, especially made for synthetic hair.

Couple questions. were you using shampoo and conditioner for synthetic wigs?Did you place any heat on it? Was it all hand tied, mono top? If it really is defective you should work with the store to help you and finally if you charged it ? You might have some recourse for a defective product.

Hello, please read my story regarding my daughters AU and trip to China last year. Let me know if I can be there to help or guide you on your next week. As I said there is so much to know and ask before you ever purchase another human hair wig. In my opinion if you can afford a human hair wig it will be more natural, comfortable and you will be more confident. All my best Lisa

Hi I'm a hair loss specialist and I do custom wigs and weaving. While purchasing a synthetic wig may last you longer because of the plastic fibers having a human hair wig goes a long way because you care for it just like you would your own hair. Plus they look more realistic. I have attached some pictures of my unit I personally made contact me 813-530-6773 my units are responsible price both stock and custom.

From my personal experience i don't like the look and feel of synthetic wigs, i like the 100% human hair wigs even though you will need to take more care of it, but it is worth it in the long run. I bought wigs from this company silkawigs.com a couple of times now and i'm very satisfied with their wigs also they are having a 30% discount on all their 100% human virgin hair lace wigs and silk top base wigs until Dec 07/2016

Try looking up some videos on YouTube on how to handle synthetic wigs. I do know that you have to use a shampoo that is formulated for synthetic wigs because regular shampoo causes build-up. How long have you had the wig? Do you wear it 24-7 and sleep in it? If so, you'll want to wrap your head in a silk scarf and sleep on a pillow with a satin pillowcase. There are ways you can revive a synthetic wig using a ceramic flat iron.

Hey all! Thanks for all the suggestions and help! Thought I would update you. Turns out I was not doing a conditioning bath as well which I didnt know I needed to do! Also, more importantly, I have a heat friendly synthetic. It really needs to be flatironed a little every morning. And I was not using hot enough heat! It is moving better and not as frizzy. Thanks again!

Hi.. I'm having a hard time with my wig, after about 1 hour of wear it starts to fluff up at the top and looks really wiggy. Every day I use conditioning spray, and it looks great at the start of the day but then it gets more and more body and looks so obvious!

What product did you use to keep the movement of the wig? Also I heard you're not supposed to get conditioner near the knots as they can become untied, so how do you smooth it out near the roots?

My wig is a Raquel Welch Scene Stealer. Its actually a great one now that I know how to use it. I soak it in soapy cold water for ten minutes, then rinse it really well. Then I spray about ten sprays of a deep conditioner I got at the wig shop into another cold water bath. I just dip the ends of the hair in two or three times. Then I squeeze out excess water, pat dry with a towel, then hang upside down to dry overnight. Next morning I flatiron a little to relax the hair. Works really well! Good luck!

If you want a realistic wig you need a mono or silk top wig where parts of the wig have been hand sewn.

Machine made wigs are often very heavy looking.

I have seen human hair machine made wigs which look terrible.

The shilo wig is a mono top which looks realistic.

Also, you might want to consider a lace front wig.  Try and find an inexpensive one to experiment with online.

The colour is also important.  I find the only wig colour I can wear is platinum.

Hi. First time posting here.
Where do you get your hand sewn wigs?
And do you wear a wig over biohair, or do they work better with no hair?
Thanks!
