Did anyone see this show last night? A quote from Julia Louis Dreyfus' character (the Vice President of the US) "The kids had alopecia and the mothers were on crack. It was a freakshow!"

We need to write HBO to tell them that alopecia has NOTHING to do with substance abuse and that we are not "freak shows".

Repulsive!

I left them a comment and told them they owe our web site a huge apology. I have a wonderful sense of humor, but I find nothing funny about aloopecia and told them so. Thanks for posting where we can make comments to HBO.

Thank you Maureen for the email. I sent an email, let's just hope it works.

I contacted the FCC through their web page. I couldn't figure out how to contact HBO but plan on calling them tomorrow. Does anyone know if NAAF does anything about stuff like

Since a TV actor was their main speaker at the 2001 conference, I would think so...(Barry Corbin). He even talks about his alopecia on his web site, at the bottom of the page. Maybe he could rally the cause in Hollywood.

i feel strongly that this type of biased remark is intolerable. It wold not be acceptable about other marginalized groups and it is not acceptable to imply that people with alopecia are freaks!!!!

I'm in Brisbane, so didn't see the show - but I'M A MOTHER OF A CHILD WITH A.T - AND I'VE NEVER TOUCHED ANY DRUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone needs to educate this muppet!

They have a Facebook page!!

@ Monica- I agreee 100%

Discusting! Rude, there is so little information out there, or positive open talk. Could anyone think this is funny?

Dag...I agree. But if the character is suppose to shallow then I guess the writers did their job.

This guy gets it.

Very good point. While the comment was shallow, insensitive and ill-informed at best, the comment came from "Selina Meyer" the "HBO character" and not from Julia Louis-Dreyfus personally. We should all take care to focus our outrage toward the network/show and not toward the actor.
