How did you transition from AA to AU or AT?

I was just wondering everyone's experience on how you transitioned from AA to AT or AU. Did you lose hair diffusely from all over your head without bald patches or did your bald patches expand and then completely lost all of it? How long did the whole process take?

One bold patch here, then another, and then another for a period of 6 months. Each patch getting slowly bigger.

Then, my dermatologist prescribed Cyclosporine as a measure of last resort. Whilst on Cyclosporine I noticed my hair was thinning diffusely all over. Within 3 months I was AU. That was 9 years ago. No regrowth since, except for a small period last year when I took prednisolone to treat eczema.

well, I've had AA for about 6 months so far. I am getting treated by the dermatologist with steroid injections. However, at the same time, I'm losing a lot of diffuse hair from all over my head. I told my dermatologist this, and he told me that it is most likely TE. I don't think you can have TE and AA at the same time. I'm not sure if this is how i am transitioning into AT ? I've been also losing eyebrow hair and eyelashes!! So, I'm very confused.
