Hey Ashley
dont have an answer for you but rather a question...when you shaved your hairline for the lace wig did you have to do it every day and if so did the stubble of one day of shaving really bother you? its something i have always wondered. i dont have a lace wig but have considered them and the Freedom wig but the shaving thing is a big question for me. i will be interested to read others responses to your question but would like to know about your hairline stubble. thanks!!
hi joy!!
you dont have to shave it every day but atleast every other day so that the tape will have a good hold. and it itched me to death the day after i shaved... actually i think it was the same night! i just started doing this last week and when i first shaved my hairline i broke out all around where i shaved. then i was so excited to but my wig on i just couldnt wait for the irritation to go away so i went ahead and put the glue on and i thought that hurt until i used the adhesive remover!! omg it was INSANE!! it hurt so so so bad!! i dont konw what i did wrong but now i have to wait for the irritation to go away so i can apply my wig again. i would much rather not have any hair at all on my head lol i really want to shave it but not if im going to have this trouble all over my head! good luck with what ever you decide to do :)
Hi Ashley,

I remember we were talking about glues and removers and irritation. But what it sounds like might have happened was irritation resulting from a dull razor. The skin was irritated and the glue got onto it and made it painful.

To get a painless and smooth shave of the head you need a high quality blade. Triple blade type is what many use. They cost more, but the quality and I think safety (no head nicks) is much higher.

Rinse it well all throughout the shaving. Keep it clean and free from dings in between. I can usually shave my head about 10 -12 times with the same blade. I don't have a lot of straggler hairs, so someone with more will get fewer shaves per blade. If the blade is nice and sharp, your head is warmed before you start , and the blade is rinsed off a lot, a close shave on the head should be painless not to mention beautiful!

Hi Ashley, Shaving your head is just like shaving any other part of your body...if you want smooth legs, you have to shave every day. have found that I can shave every other day, or even every 3 days before the stubble gets too annoying. My hubby has been shaving his head for 15 years and said that if I want a smoother head, I need to shave every day to get my head used to it. I feel the same way about my hair, just get it all off. If I can't have a full head, I don't want any.

Sounds like you are making progress towards shaving, you're starting to sound excited about the idea! Let us know how you make out!

Hey Ashley, I'm with you. I would love to make these silly regrowth patches fall out & return to my nice low-maintenance clean head. So far, I can't. I've found shaving in the shower with headblade's razor & headslick shaving cream pretty quick, easy & comfortable. Frequent blade rinses help. The cream has some menthol in it, which may make it more comfortable. I also bought their aftershaving moisturizer in glossy, but it doesn't look glossy. It does moisturize well, though. My skin isn't irritated, so I can shave as frequently or infrequently as I like. Even with a very close shave, though, dark hair & light skin means you can see a little shadow of hair through the skin.
Hi Lisa,

Thanks for mentioning the glossy moisturizer. I always assumed it would be shiny so I gave away to some macho guys the samples they put in with my order. Will try it.
The company has a wonderfully successful branding image for men; but they are supportive of our needs too. Using code 23967309 will help our women. If there's enough code use over time it will enable bgdl to have new full size products to demonstrate and give away at the lunches.

I have good luck with a "head blades" razor. It's designed specifically for shaving your head. Is like a little "Hot Wheels" car you roll over your head. Works great! Google it.
