How does regrowth regrow?

Sounds like a very stupid question, but i was just wondering if and when my hair does rewgrow, how does it start? I mean, will it all come back all over my head at once, or will it come back in patches, the way it fell out? Also, does it come in the way it would if a person with "normal" hair shaved their head and it comes in short and stubbly or does it come in very fine and almost non visible to the naked eye?
Any responses would be much appreciated, thanks...

Here is my experience. I'm still dealing with AA that began in June of this year and the patch is growing to a considerable size. I started the injections. And in the center of the patch is a small circle of hair coming back in. This is visible when I look through a double mirror or take a picture of it. The rest of the patch looks bald, but when I feel it with my fingers, I feel stubble and hair. My friends who can look up close, say there is fine white hair coming in. But I just can't see it. I hope this helps you somewhat.

I'm finding the regrowth in my spots to be totally random...

One spot has had a good covering of fine white hair for months now... it's getting longer but not thickening up or getting darker.

Another has black stubble on most of it and a bit of white

Another has thicker white and black hairs coming through

Another has long fine white hair and a bit of short black hair coming through.

It is totally random. I just wish they would fill in soon. The regrowth gives me a little bit of hope before a new spot comes and drags me right down again.

i have regrowth at the momenta i lost my hair in april and shaved the little i had left off, then within weeks i had stubble comin in but now it has lots of diff lengths, long, short and stunnle bits all over, my rite side has more hair than the left but i was told it can take upto 2yrs for ur hair to grow bak prop, my hair is comin in pure white and has no signs of changin colour at the moment, i also have eyebrows comin in which r also white, ha ha, but unfortunatly im still losin my eyelashes, very confusin, im tryin not to get so excited as with alopecia u just dont know wat can happen, so always believe there is hope, x

mine came in white, then darkened. the regrown hair is not as thick as the original hair was. also, some of it has started falling out again. sigh.

My hair started to regrow It started stubbly&then went fine PURE WHITE( I`M 79) PREVIOUSLY DARK GREY i SHAVED IT OFF BUT IT THEN DISAPEARED SO DON`T SHAVE Off...Paddy Clarke Best of luck
