I purchased a Gripper a couple of months ago. I love it but it was 4K and I can't afford another one. My insurance does not cover it and I was told in 6 months I would have to send it back so they could touch it up. I need to get another human hair wig but I don't want to pay 4K for another one. Does anyone know of a good human hair wig that is not so expensive. This disease is expensive enough without having to pay so much to look normal :( Any advice would be great thanks!

Send me a message and I will send you the place that we get my daughter's wigs. They are all lace and need to be put on with tape but they are beautiful and under $500.
Hi Karen. Any suggestions would be great thanks!!!
Hi,
Are you in Australia?
I'm just starting to look at wig choices and was thinking about a gripper but they are so expensive. I'm 22 year old student and was saving to go over sea's .. not for a wig. So if there is a cheaper alternative i'd love to know!
Did you check out freedom vaccum wigs? They also cost about 4k but they last longer than 6 months.
It will last longer than six months but I have to send it back to get the missing hair sewn back in. I will look into freedom wigs too thanks.
Hi

If I can help in anyway just pop into my page.

Hi

I was thinking about your post and thought I might be able to add a little here about what my understanding is regarding human hair and how it is often used in wigs.

In my mind there really are two types of human hair. The first is processed human hair and the second and what I would consider the better of the two choices is 100% unprocessed human hair.

I don't know if everybody fully understands the difference of these two types of human hair.

Processed hair is as you would think.... it's processed. This often means that it has been changed from the original colour/texture by processing it to make it viable for those who want lighter shades of hair and for wig makers who make less a expensive type of wig. Some people like this type of hair... so I'm not saying this is a no no, but it does have some inherent qualities that make it less durable, less lifelike etc. than unprocessed human hair. The cuticle is often removed so that when it is implanted into a hairpiece it supposedly doesn't tangle so much. This sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. If you are talking to anyone about a hairpiece you really should ask if the hair has been processed in anyway because this very much impacts the durability and quality of the hair in the hairpiece. Processed hair is often covered with silicone as well to make it seem smooth and shiny ( like unprocessed human hair), but after a few washes this does get removed and you can be left with something a little less desirable than what you thought you bought. So, do your homework.

100% unprocessed human hair. This is hair that is taken from human beings. It is as it says... totally unprocessed and is available in as many colours, textures, and curl preferences as the human race has. This type of hair is expensive and takes skill and workmanship to use in a hairpiece properly. If you buy a hairpiece using this type of hair I'm afraid you will find that it is expensive. I am really only going to talk in regards to what Freedom does with this type of hair now as I fully understand their process but I'm sure there are other companies that use this type of hair skillfully. To make a Freedom hairpiece (they only use 100% unprocessed human hair) it will often take on average 10-12 raw ponytails to make one hairpiece. That means that 10-12 people have to want to donate or cut/sell their hair to help one person with this type of hairpiece. The hair must be sorted into colours, textures, and curl preferences according to the clients wants. This is complicated and time consuming but in Freedom's case we are very lucky to have some very skilled people in this area. If you were to want to buy a hairpiece using this type of hair I would suggest you must be fully consulted and listened to by an Independent Agent so they can facilitate your hairpiece to your needs. Some of the hair colours and curl preferences are very rare in this type of hair. If you have red hair... you have to understand that only 4% of the world’s population has this colour hair. If you get a hairpiece using this colour and of length, you really are getting a gift of gold. The same can be said for long blonde curly hair or long blonde straight hair.... when you think about it how many ladies do you know with this type of hair (which is totally unprocessed) and who want to sell or donate it to help those with hairloss. Truly its hen’s teeth type stuff. It’s not an impossible want to use this type of hair in a hairpiece but it really is rare and something that most will love if the choice is made to use this type of hair. It moves and behaves as growing hair (if implanted skillfully). It’s beautiful hair and the hair my daughter has been wearing for the last 8 years. Pop into my page and have a wee looksee.

I hope knowing the above may help you understand the pricing around human hair. I'm not sure what type of hair your gripper has in it but I truly hope that it is 100% unprocessed human hair... as that price would indicate it should be.

Good luck with your investigations.

Take care

Hi Brandy-I can recommend Milano wigs-but they are not so easy to connect with. They are a Jewish/Brooklyn company and less expensive than some of their "peer group"-but often the distribution is done through some one who is a vendor in their own home so a little bit of a different way of doing things. But I have been very, very impressed by their wigs and their prices.I can't wear any brand of vacuum wig because of the heat factor so have looked for other solutions.
I really like Upscale Lace Wigs. The owner has alopecia and is the most understanding person I have ever dealt with. I just got a custom thin skin lace wig with malaysian virgin hair from her for under $500 and it's totally gorgeous.
Hi Noel-Just wondering if you got a wig in a nearly natural color-that is dark brown or black-or did you get one that is colored a lighter color and/or with highlights. I find it hard to get a lace wig company that will say they can do shades of blond with highlights-they tend to do a very light "one color all over" blond and that's it for blond.
Hi Cathy, I get the natural color because that's most natural for me. But, they do do highlights on top of whatever color you want. I haven't ever ordered a unit with this, so I don't know how the shades of blond would actually turn out. I'm sure if you contact the owner, she can talk to you about it and will tell you the truth. She's fantastic.
Hope that helps :)
