Hi

I'm really sorry that your experience has not been as positive as you had hoped.

I understand the alopecia can be so very overwhelming sometimes and I just wanted to say keep looking and investigating into things that may help you with this condition. There is such great advise and care on this site. Read through some of the discussions and I'm sure you will find many who are so willing to help emotionally and with any knowledge you may need around hairpieces.

If I can be of any help please feel free to pop into my page. I don't have alopecia, my daughter does (she is now 20 but lost her hair when she was 12).

Hugs

Rosy
Thanks for the support

Hi Rosy,

I was trying to look at your page to see some photos, etc as I am interested in the Freedom wigs, but it doesn't seem to let me. Is there a way to look at your page? I'm not sure if you have to add me as a "friend".

Hi Mellisa,

I have AU since I was 16 - and I wrote about it to myself as therapy but, the only real therapy came when I got a prosthetic for aprx $2,000. Ive haad such a thing since 1993 when I turned 29. Insurance is supposed to cover but, as I have seen, they don't all the time. The right codes need used and even then they barely cooperate. A psychiatrist note helps the most, Ive heard. It pains me to read how things go for us but, its theraputic to talk to others w/it. I know of a place in downtown Pittsburgh that makes unbelievable prosthetics; they are soo real looking and durable...I also went thru the same thing you did spending $$$ on an inferrior wig...The prosthetics are not wigs...Im at 412-355-0780 btwn 9-5 and on my cell 724-678-2702 if you want to talk more.
I hope I was of some help to you. Im also new to this site.

I used to spend a lot of money on custom made, human hair pieces. I was also disappointed by the initial expense and the cost of upkeep. Eventually, I became a synthetic wig convert. Granted, synthetic wigs are not for everyone and may not be an option that you are interested in. It is a totally different product and experience than human hair wigs, but it works for me (and I get to change my hairstyle all the time.) If you join some of the groups and discussions devoted to synthetic wigs, you can ask specific questions about members' experiences and you might want to give it a try.
Hi, I was a member of the Hair Club also, for about a year, my husband treated me to the hair because of being so down because of the hair loss...and YES, they are quite expensive....I later found the site on the website HairDirect.com. I brought a unit and was pleased with it and it is so much less expensive. You're have a 30 day return if not pleased and there are associates to help you via telephone and/or site. I just came to the point that I was going to shave my head, without buying another unit. The unit lasts about 3 or 4 months then you would order another which would take at least 6 - 8 weeks to get. Check the site, it may interest you.
Hi, I order my daughter's wigs through a chinese site. They are all lace, human hair and gorgeous. They cost about $400. They last a couple of months but she is hard on them and sleeps in them. Message me and I will give you the site.

Hello

What is the website to buy these wigs from china?

thanks

LL

You can get a Hair System, for a lot cheaper than Hair Club, at HairDirect.com. The quality is good and that's where I get my hair.
