I have now been basically bald from alopecia areata for three years now. I do not seek treatments for my alopecia. Been there, done that.

About 8 months ago I started having what my dermatologist calls "dermatosis". He has done all types of treatments to rid me of this pustular disorder. (creams, ointments, grenz radiation, puva light treatments). Absolutely nothing was helping. So he gave me a corticosteroid injection in my thigh muscle. Within 2 days I could feel and see the lesions healing up. With that, my muscle and other soft tissue pain totally subsided.

The lesions started coming back after 23 days. That was a little disappointing, considering my derm said the injection should keep the lesions at bay for up to 6 months.

It has now been a month since the injection and guess what? The peach fuzz on my head it turning dark! I'm soooo excited!

Has anyone had a similar experience? Did your hair come back or did it turn back to blonde fuzz after a while?

IM steroid injections worked for my daughter the first time and she got all of her hair back. She received them every 6 weeks 3 times. They did not work the second time.

Thanks for the information. How long did your daughter's hair stay before it fell out again?
