I was diagnosed around october 2014 with alopecia,I been using Clobetasol Solution 0.05% and Rogaine for women, and nothing seems to be Help, The doctor was concerned because I have multiple bald spots, she told me normally the body realize that It's making a Mistake, but for me it's not and it's still attacking my hair, so she's recommending the injection and I hear positive and negative about this treatment, what are your thoughts on this treatment if you had it done.

Hi,

In short ,YES!

They are the best widely available option for alopecia and have at least a reasonable chance of working.

A few years back I had some shots in my eyebrows they grew back completely within 3 weeks and lasted 2 years.

yeah im gonna have to give it a go! im just scared =/ I hear its painful..

Depends on where you get it. The eyelashes , groin area do hurt like hell.

If it's on the head though you can hardly feel it .

hope this helps.

it will be on my head 0_o I have 7 bald spots do they poke more the once? sorry for asking 21 questions lol

It's roughly 1 shot per 3-5 cm's but of course different doctors will use different distances and ml's .

Just remember to rub it in for around 15-30 seconds after the shot to spread the area of effect as much as possible.

Hey Coni,

It seems that we have a similar story. I also found my first bald spot right around the same time as you. I have been using Clobetasol twice a day for the past month and it seemed to really help! But unfortunatly I found two new bald spots on the top of my head this week....the injections are worth a shot. I did my first round in October and they didn't do much. Combined with the Clobetasol I saw nice hair growth in my original bald spot. It's just these new one's I have to keep focusing on! I say try it. :) It isn't too too painful.

Yeah I believe im gonna give it a try, hope I see something soon ,within 3months  my hair got super thin , I hate to shower because I just stress myself out more seeing my hair fall out =[ I can only hide it when I have it in a bum ,but who knows how long that will last waaahhhh!!!

My daughter has two huge bald spots at the back of her head. They have been there for two years now.We have tried the creams they didnt work.We used them but not like we should have .She just went and had her shots Monday. She is 18 and she had to get more than ten shots.I held her hand while given the shots. She said it was painful but tolerable. After that she was fine she said it stinged for a little while after that when she got home. The derm swears this is going to work i hope so because i want her hair to grow back.I cry everyday thinking about her alopecia. This is an awful disease and just not fair. She has to go back every month for injections until her hair grows back .Im praying it will. The derm says it takes about three weeks to start growing back.Do cortisone injections cause more hair to fall out thats what im scared of.

Are your bald spots large or little?

Im sorry to hear about ur daughter, yes this disease sucks,I'm not sure about the injections if the hair grows back or not that's why I'm asking people's opinion,so far I use the solution and Rogaine,so far no luck :( well the one that I noticed in October of 2014 was the size of a quarter now it's the size of a baseballand I currently found 7 more the same size as a quarter,I'm happy I could hide it when I put my hair up in a bun but when I wear it down you could see it alland my hair got so thin within these three months
I definitely recommend the shots for spots on the head. My derm. won't do them on my eyebrows because they could scar. I have had so many over the past 20 years I can't keep count. They have always grown back my hair, I had too much hair loss this time so I chose not to get the shots. They aren't all that painful in my opinion but everyone's pain tolerance is different.
thank you so much for your information I truly appreciate it but I have a question my doctor told me that a side effect from the shoTs can cause high blood pressure and rapid heart beating,is it true ?
