So im thinking about the Freedom Wig. I wanna do it i wanna save up, and maybe even get a Go Fund Me page. The Freedom Wig cost about $5000.00! Im young and think it would give me much more courage, and I wanna feel like every other teenager that has hair. I mean I dont think its wrong. I just wanna know if it's really worth it or see if anyone had an opionion on what i should do!

Its crazy how expensive those wigs are, right? it should be way more affordable for us, with medical condition like Alopecia, but no its all about business and money...so sad...i never had a wig that expensive but sure would want one. Would love to hear reviews from people who did wear freedom hair.

Hi there, I'm currently wearing a freedom and have done for the last 6 years, and I understand totally about how you feel, that's why I went for the freedom in the first place, the hair quality is very good and the first one I had, with good care lasted me 4 years  (I never slept in mine) the hairline isn't too realistic though and I had to have a fringe in both of mine, the cap is medical grade silicone that's moulded from your own head and therefore bespoke to you, you can chose density/limited colours/movement of the hair etc

The cap as I said is silicone and each hair is implanted into it to give it a very realistic illusion of the hair growing from it (you can chose scalp colour to match your own) the freedom when worn correctly creates a vacuum seal on your head and therefore offers very good security for ladies who are totally bald.

Good points: great quality hair, security, longevity

Bad points: expensive/hot/very long waiting time/fringe

I have loved my freedom over the years but recently have moved to a follea aero wig which I can wear off my face, thus too is expensive but it's lighter doesn't feel as heavy on my head and I can get one of these very quickly, the hair is not as good as a freedom, but I think it's more suitable for right now, as in where I'm at with my alopecia journey

And I agree with the comment about the expense, they can charge what they like as we have no choice if we choose to wear a hair piece makes me so mad!

Good luck! Xxx

what a great review bebaldandbeautiful..

I own two FREEDOM pieces and you nailed the good and the bad. I too had a Follea piece. I DID NOT LIKE IT. hair did not move like it should.

see what I wrote below about my new piece from China, through Alo mom. Give Lisa a call!!

When my daughter developed AU while in college we decided that she needed the best human hair wig possible. I found a salon in an upscale town in Orange County. She was very happy and she continued on in school and life without missing a beat. Soon after that I realized that spending thousands of dollars every other year or so was not realistic for me and most importantly, for her when I was no longer here to assist her financially. So I ask you to read about my discussion I posted on going to China to meet factories that produce 90% of the wigs in the world. It took me years of study to understand wigs, where they come from and the many different caps for those with medical hair loss. The loss of my daughters hair, even after 5 years is still very painful to me so I decided after coming back from China that I wanted to help other women too. I could not  just provide human hair wigs for my daughter, but to those that wanted my assistance.
