I will get a full report when I see my endocrinologist in February, but basically everything from my blood test looks good except I have low cortisol levels.

Does anybody else have this? Any information is appreciated!

Hey Aimee,

First I would imagine they would want to re-run the test. Cortisol levels are constantly changing- they are effected by so many things- stress, time of day, after exercise, medication etc. One of the most common reasons they look at cortisol tests to check for pituitary and adrenal gland health.

Are you feeling wipeout and exhausted?? The only other association I have heard related to low levels is insufficient adrenal function. Or in condition like Addison's disease ( which is autoimmune! )

What type of test was is? salvia, urine or blood ( ACTH?)

Was your thyroid panel ok? sometimes low cortisol goes with thyroid deficiency.

Also- are we talking about really low reading or just near the normal range?
