My husband had alopecia and had a series of injections. His
hair has grown back but he is noticing some lumps in the the
area that was injected. Is this normal?

Hi Julia
This is one of the main reasons I declined injections during my AA period back in the 80's. The tissues in the scalp are very fine and thin. I felt needle marks over my scalp was too much a risk. My AA was rather extensive so not a good candidate anyway. Sooo glad i took that option as I've been AU now for years and have ditched my wigs. I have a smooth scalp and feel confident about my appearance.
When one is in a state of shock or even denial over hairloss, one tends to search frantically for cure, treatment etc. If someone told me to rub a cowpat on my head i think i would have. Injections may work some some but not for others but when faced with this condition you kinda say 'well its worth a try'.
Try be kind to your body, its a powerful tool. It would be a shame if these lumps remained for hubby after this treatment. I know someone who has small dents left where the needle entered.
How about loads of head massages Julia. Warm wishes
Sharan
You have a wonderful outlook.
Just keep the faith.
Thanks for responding.
Julia
Well funny you should say that his are on his head but behind the ear area. The injections have helped his hair grow back but lighter. We used a little dye to make it darker. Thanks for writing.
