Mirena IUD & AA

Anybody else have the Mirena and are experience moderate to excessive hair loss?! I sure am,I've had the mirena for 3 years now first started noticing bald spots 6 months ago, one started around the size of a quarter and is now almost the size of my palm! The second developed a few months later and is now a little bigger than a quarter. I've been getting steroid injections on my scalp on the areas to help hair grow back haven really seen a difference yet. However I'm having my Mirena taken out next week I hope that's what causing my hair loss.

Even if it isn't causing the hair loss, all the side effects from the hormones can't be fun.
I used to use a copper IUD for many years; no hormones with that, and no side effects either.

Yeah For my next contraceptive I wanna get something with no hormones for sure! I've read about the copper coil that would deff be a good one to have!

I once had Mirena BC Pills and started hair loss after all had grown in for 16 years. Doc had me stop the pills immediately. My hair went AT, then AU, then permanently AT.

I have had alopecia for 15 years but use to only lose small amounts of hair but after i had my daughter and had a mirena put in i lost all my hair after having it in for 4 years but i had it taken out on the correct date (i had it for 5 years) and now that it has been out for 2 years i still dont have any hair!

I just got mine out yesterday and that it self was traumatizing uhh but ill keep you guys posted on how my hair reacts hopefully it gets better and not worse.....(keeping my fingers crossed)
