My bald head has always been perfectly smooth and healthy.  Lately, though, it has started to get a little red/irritated in places, and I have a few dry patches.  I've always used jojoba oil on my head and OTC cortisone on the dry patches, but that's not working this time.

I think it may be because my scalp is irritated by my longer fall/winter wig.  I wear a cloth wig liner with that wig for comfort.  Or, maybe it's just this weird weather where it's cold in the morning and then warms up later in the day.

Does anybody have any recommendations for oils/moisturizers to use on the scalp or has anyone experienced something similar? Thanks!!

Aimee I don't know the answer to this, I use an organic very mild shampoo on my head it is a make called Neals Yard and I get the rose shampoo. My scalp seems ok with this and I don't put anything on my hairless area. I get my wig advice from www.wigsupport.com I think the ladies in there will be able to help you. I hope your scalp gets better soon
I have been using my face cream on my head ever since I shaved it off at the end of December. I have eczema and very dry, sensitive skin and this cream has been working great. It's called Complex 15 Daily Face Cream.
Also, it's not expensive, so worth a try. It's under $10CDN for 100mL.

Hi Aimee,

I use a moisturizer by La Roche.  We have had a horrible winter so my skin in general has been quite dry.  This works for the most part.  I'm seeing my derm in the near future and will get his thoughts.  I will pass them on.

I use the same oil free moisturizer for sensitive skin on my head that I use on my face and neck.   I use the "Equate" (Wal-Mart) brand -- works as well as Neutrogena's.
