I think the most important thing to keep in mind is this: progress is being made. I am so thrilled to know that funding was made available & research is being done - by two of the best Universities in the country: Columbia & Yale! - and, there have been positive results. Of course, there have to be many more, larger trials, and studies on safety, etc. We're still a ways off from a "cure." But, this is encouraging, don't y'all think?
I have to agree with chris. Prior to this I had been prescribed with steroids which were not specifically formulated for AA and now we are again being prescribed with Cancer and Arthritis drug. Furthermore some reviews (in terms of side effects) by users diagnosed with Arthritis is pretty discouraging. Another important question is on the sustainability of the hair regrowth upon treatment completion after being being subjected to the side effects.
I firmly believe that quality of life has to be given priority when considering a treatment for any disorders. In fact Alopecia Areata does have treatment that does show positive progress. From my experince, a treatment called pro-alopeciata helped me to completely recover from Monolocularis.
Hope to hear more success stories
