So its been 5 months since my first spot. I have growth in the spot but am still losing hair everywhere else. The hair on the spot is about 1/2 inch and dark. Others hairs are lighter, but it seems like the dark ones started as white hairs. I am afraid that these hairs are going to fall out because every once in awhile a couple will come out on my hands. Does anyone know the deal with regrowth. Is this a common trend or am I looking at them falling out again? I have an appointment to get the wig I ordered tomorrow but I am contemplating sending it back because it was almost 300 dollars for a Revlon synthetic. Probably to much for my first but I didnt know any better.

HI!! I always had regrowth that started as white and grew to be very dark. I can't say if it will stay or not, no one has pin-pointed the way this deal goes. I had AA at age 12 and regrowth and fallout 3 times by the time I was 17 (all with the aide of medical science). I stopped all treatments and began smoking, drinking and drugs. This suppressed my immune system and for 6 yrs I had 90% regrowth (all over my body and head). I stopped all the alcohol, smoking and drugs at age 28 and gave birth to my first child. Fallout began again in earnest when he was just 2 months old and by the time he was 8 months old I was back to wearing a full wig and have been AU with absolutely no regrowth for the past 8 yrs. In that time I have given birth to 2 more children and still no regrowth. Who knows? I don't think you paid too much, sometimes the more expensive ones do last a bit longer, I buy real inexpensive now (even on ebay, lol) and only get about 6 months of really pretty hair before I need to replace it because of the the frizzies! BTW did you get married yet? God Bless You!!

Nope August 22nd. Its approaching fast.
Thanks. I did end up sending it back. It wasnt the right color anyway. I am either looking at a Rene of Paris (Norika) or something with human hair which a little more spendy but I am gonna need something I can play with for my wedding. The one of Revlon was a monofilament top but was just not something I was looking for. Thanks for the advice. I am gonna keep my options open before I order one for good. The lady that is helping me is really good about it and only wants me to get something that I am going to love.
The hair growth is so unpredictable. I did have full regrowth for a long time, but eventually last year all of my hair fell out. I had about an inch of regrowth when in February I had another occurence, and it all fell out again, and I haven't had any growth since. I currently have a synthetic wig with a mono top, but I am researching different types when I have to purchase my next one.
HI! I lost about 95% of my hair almost 2 years ago and it has since grown back in. Enough for even a very short and thin ponytail I wear under a baseball cap. I still wear wigs for work. The hair that has grown back in is a few shades (atleast) darker than my original hair. It is also very thin and coarse. I also have had very coarse pure white hairs grow in..I pull them! When I do and look at them they look like striped hairs.?? They are almost purely white but also have little sections of brown mixed in. I have purchased countless wigs over the last 2 years. I have bought 2 Human Hair ones. My first wig, I purchased at Wilshire Wigs in Los Angeles. They have a huge selection and was very nice. I actually paid cash and was given a huge discount. $700 wig for about $300. It was a lace cap wig that was glued down for 3 weeks at a time (i had shaved my head). I have mostly worn Synthetic wigs. I agree you need one with a Mono top. For the synthetic ones I have not paid over $160. I also think Wilshire Wigs has about the best selection but I recommend you going to different wig shops in your area to try some on. Get a feel for the size, style, and color that you want. They will not have the selection that wilshirewigs.com has but will probably have some of the same brands. Colors, styles, thickness etc. look so different online. You may have to drive around alot, but will be worth it. Go in person and find some that you like and then go online to purchase. Good luck with everything!
