Hello everyone! I have female pattern baldness and I need a wig. The problem is I can only afford to spend about a thousand dollars on hairpieces, and I've seen some stock wigs that look really natural, except that you can see the knots. Can you bleach them yourself? I don't want anyone to know I'm wearing a wig. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi

I understand that when wearing a wig you want to feel empowered in the process.  A lot of anxiety around wig wearing is caused by the secret getting out to those that you may not feel comfortable with.  I understand and support you in your choice, while also knowing that 'the secret' will wear on who you are.

You have hairloss, you have decided to wear a wig. You have no control around your hairloss...only the way you choose to handle it.  You have no control about people knowing you wear a wig...even exceptionally good wigs are sometimes found out.  I think it may be worthwhile thinking this through from your personal perspective.  What would happen if somebody noticed....once you get that into a perspective and you begin to feel comfortable about it,  I think this whole process will be easier.

Hand tied wigs and knot bleaching is not unusual.  There are threads on here explaining this...do a search.  Otherwise there are a lot of utube clips around this type of practise.

Good luck with everything.

We are happy  with wigs from a Chinese site called qdbeauty.

I got a Water Wig by Amy Gibson
Her company is createdhair.com. She has AU and is really compassionate
My wig looks really great I love it I've had it for almost a year
it looks just like my hair and you literally don't feel like you have anything on your head because it's made of all lace
I use tape with it for extra security but if I'm running around just doing errands I usually don't use anything with it but it worked out great, she also has an amazing swim wig with a video demonstration of her sky diving in it and it stays on!! Spectacular!
Good luck I hope it works out for you!
