First diagnosed with alopecha in march this year after losing 70 per cent of my hair if that is the case just whent from a full head of thick hair to very very thin candy floss type hair but i still had hair all over my head even if you could see the scalp through it. Rushed to dermotolgists in London who put me immedietly on steriod tablets was on them for one month and tiny hairs started to appear whent back to him and tryed new experiment drug prograf with neoral(sandimmun) have full head of hair but as one little hole fills in another three come still on the neoral have to finish it in next three months and am told nearly all people lose the hair they have grown. The derm said i was totalis as the whole scalp was affected is it still totalis even if you have hair.!

Hi Denise, I'm currently, against my better judgement, am trying the cortisone tablets and have decided after this treatment to let nature take its course. I may try more homeopathic measures in the future, but I think I need a break after this trial for searching for a cure. It sounds as if our diagnosis are quite similar and I lost most of my hair in October. It's still falling out at the moment, but the doctor says she can see hairs growing -haha. Well, I had a dream last night that I had new fuzzy hair growing. It was only a dream. I have read a lot on this and other alopeica websites and agree that to be healthy and happy is the most important thing.
