So I've had AA for 20+ years. I had a complete remission for 20 years, but it returned in 2012 with loss of most of my scalp hair and eyelashes. I had regrowth after changing my diet, but it had to be sustained with Kenalog injections. Last October it began falling out again, and I lost nearly all my hair again, including my body, eyebrows and eyelashes. I started taking Methotrexate in December of last year and I'm pleased to report good growth.
I'm sharing my photos and my protocol:
Methotrexate, building to 15mg/week (six 2.5mg pills)
Drink Tumeric 'tea' (tumeric powder, a dash of black pepper, lemon juice in hot water) most mornings
Take three probiotics that are reported to help with gut flora: Bifidobacterium infantis
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum Daily.
I also take L5 MTHF (a premethylated folate supplmement, since I have a genetic disorder called MTHFR), biotin, Zinc, B12 and vitamin D when I'm not in the sun.
Apply this regimen of essential oils 2x daily to my scalp and eyebrows:

Before and after pics attached.
I am continuing with the Methotrexate til December, when the doc plans to taper me off to see if the hair remains. He said that I want to stop while it is growing, not if I have plateaued. And the spots I don't yet have hair he may biopsy if the still don't, to see if there was scarring. (which would be bad.)

So happy for you. I don't have the energy to try anymore. It is what it is. I have been dealing with this since stressful situations since 1981. Grew back 10 years later and stayed until my mother died in 2011. I'm never out the door without head coverings and never in public without my wigs.
