Does anyone know if nursing could be causing my alopecea to get worse. My daughter has been nursing since she was born for 9 months now and my hair has gotten worse than it's ever been. People have said that maybe it's the lactating hormone?

I can't say for sure, but my wife does not have alopecia...just my daughter, but, when she nursed, and she did all 4 of our children, her hair got noticeably thinner than it was before. Our youngest is 4 and my wife's hair has never gone back to how thick it was before she nursed them.
After pregnancy everyone - with or without Alopecia loses more hair.... Well, they don't lose more hair, but it seems like they do. When you are pregnant, the normal shedding process stops, that's why pregnant women have more luscious hair, then after you have bub, in the months that follow, when all those pregnancy hormones work their way out of the body, the process of shedding starts again, and you shed all the hair that you otherwise would have lost if you hadn't been pregnant.
It doesn't happen rapidly, you wont be able to fill a cushion overnight. But I think it is more pronounced if you have alopecia. I certainly have lost a lot, but my Doc advised me of this and I've read it in a few different pregnancy books.
I don't know if breastfeeding exacerbates this, but I am still feeding a 16 month old and I'm back to my 'normal' shed now. Of course my hair is much finer, but it may have gotten to this point by now anyway. Remember, breast feeding is the best thing for your bub, you're doing a fantastic thing for her.
Oh, and congrats on you baby girl!!
