Has anyone had permanent make up as a teen or for their teen. My daughter wants to get permanent liner, she is sick of dealing with it. I've had an artist tell me that it's not an issue and she has done this for several teens and another tell me that she will not do this for anyone under 18. In California the law is just parental permission, so this is not an issue. Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Vicktoria. I got my eyebrows tattooed 11 years ago at the age of 19 in the state of Texas. That was when I didn't know any better and I did it behind my mother's back. That year I was first diagnosed with AU and was just young a naive. Of course I didn't do any research and I paid the ultimate price of it being uneven and the color totally off as I got older and wanted it corrected. I do not have my eyeliner tattoo but, would like to get it done when I get the courage to. I did however see Susan Church for my eyebrow correction and she does a fabulous job! She specializes in the hair strokes technique (simulation of hair) for eyebrows and eyeliner. She is located in southern California. I will be seeing her next week for my second session and will post pics on here soon after my procedure. However if you and Katya would like to see her portfolio and website you can google her name Susan Church and it will take you to her website. Best of luck and take care, Holly
Do you know the name of the web site or how I can find Susan Church. I tried to google her but she only comes up as a lecturer and teacher. I could not find anything with contact info.
Thanks Vicktoria
Yes, Susan Church is also a teacher and lecturer. Here is the website. http://www.permanentmakeupschool.org/ On the website is the address and contact info. Holly
I've had a good experience with having my eyebrows tatooed! I'm in MN so sorry I don't know about people who do it in California. I would be interested in what you guys think if you decide to do the eyeliner. I have thought about having the gal who's done my eyebrows do it but hear it is pretty painful, though :(
Yes, I got "permanent" eyeliner, which is not permanent by the way, and it was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. In fact, the needle went into my eye and my iris has a black spot on it (the eye doctor found it -- he said, "this looks like INK!"). On top of that, it doesn't last very long. Within a couple of years it had faded.
Maybe others have had good experiences with this, but I would not recommend it.

Just an update. My daughter got eyeline with Susan Church. She has to go for a touch up in a couple of weeks since we were very concervative and made it very thin and light. Since she is only 13, we made it very semi-permanent and she will have to touch it again up in a year or so. It did hurt but not horrible. She told me that it was worth it and is happy to go get this touch up to make it a little bit darker.

Katya went from spending 30 minutes on eyeliner and lashes every morning, to hardly using make up at all. Even though the liner is currently pretty light, it still gives her eyes enough depth that she looks amazing. She is lucky in that she is vary fair and the brown eyeline just makes her look like she has blond lashes. Another member on this side recommended Susan and she knows how much I appreciate this referral.

She said that she will probably still wear lashes sometimes, but now she can swim, go to sleep overs, ect. without pre-planning for make up application. It just makes her feel more confident in all ways. We did check with her dermatologist prior to having this done. Also, my husband, a doctor, was there through the procedure. Susan Church was (and is) amazing. My daughter felt really comfortable with her and her staff. I would recommend her to anyone that can come to Orange County CA and needs this done.
I am so glad it turned out!
Good thing you didn't read what I said before she had it done!
Sorry you did not have a good experience with this eyeliner procedure !!
The needle should not of even come close to your eye to especially go into it, that is
totally unexceptable !!!!!!! The tech must of not been experienced.
It normally is a wonderful procedure to have done.!
I have NO lashes since I was 13 , now I'm 42 & I just got my liner done 3 yrs ago, & I wish
I would of gotten them done 15 yrs ago, when I got my eyebrows done !!
Find an experienced tech & you will know it is one of the best decisions you will make
I am in Ohio if you want to come to me, I would love to take care of you !!
Kym
That is the same way it is in Ohio also,
I am a Permanent Cosmetic Tech. & I would NOT
work on anyone that is under 18.
