I just want to have a pony tail again. I have missed them ever since I lost my hair and have yet to find a good wig or way to have a higher pony tail, or a high bun.
Does anyone have tips on wig types that would work for a top bun or higher pony?
Or any tips on how to get my regular mono tops to work?

My main problem is that the sides slide up and the cap will show. Help!!
Thank you :)

Is it a full lace wig? I saw your pics and you can't even tell that you have a wig on!

It is a full lace wig. I'm very happy with it :)

what glue do you use? It is messy? I use double sided tape, but I am ordering my first custom wig and I really want to be able to "forget" I have a wig on sometimes. With my current one, It is sooo itchy. How did you learn how to glue and take it off? thanks for any advice

I use ultra-derm glue it works really good and not too messy. I also use I piece of tape in the front and one in back for extra hold. Sometimes you need to play around with different glues is what the lady at the wig store told me. I got lucky I guess the first one I used worked for me. Mine isn't itchy at all I have the Swiss lace. I heard if you have French lace it can be itchy but I haven't try it.

Elaine - do you find that swiss lace to be very delicate? I am afraid of it fraying. What are your thoughts. Have you ever tried thin skin perimeter?

It's not as delicate as I was thinking it would be. No fraying or holes. No, I havent tried thin skin perimeter. I have had mine for a month and taken it off and washed it 4 times with no problems. Every other day I take up the back and clean my scalp under it. I was worried since mine is so long it maybe hard on the lace but I think I can get 6 months out of this one. I've already order a 2nd so I'm ready for anything :)

and thank you!

elaine did you post that you use ultraderm adhesive? What remover do you use to get it off of the wig? Also how long do you keep it on. I would love to have a wig be comfortable enough to wear 24/7 even if I only get 4-6 months out of it.

I know it's been awhile since this post but I wanted to tell everyone something. Try ghost bond it is wonderful! It would stay on for a month if you wanted it to. I wear it for about 2 weeks and I shower in it! I wear mine 24/7 I just sleep in a silk sleep cap over it. It helps with breaking hair. The ultra derm is good too but it needs more touch ups. Ghost bond has a remover you can buy. I ordered mine on ebay.

yes, if you could send me the video that would be great!

Hi all,
I love the site and am so glad to have other alopecians to talk to.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any good sites to go on and learn how to style long hair wigs. I also miss high ponytails, only recently I started wearing long full lace wigs, and I love that I can have plaits again, lol.
I would love to be able to do an 'up do', messy ponytails etc... All the things people with natural long hair do.
I muck about with my wigs on their styrofoam heads, (and even make my daughter and husband)suffer while I put the wigs on them and try to style.
Alas, it looks great on other heads but when I put the wig on me....well...it looks daggy.
Hopefully someone out there in 'alopecia world' can help me.
