Problem with hand-tied wig...mesh looks black because of my real hair!

I have been wearing wigs for about 8 years now because of my alopecia and am about to buy a new one.

My wig lady and i chose a very nice, fully hand tied, long dark brown wig with a lace front and it just came in the other day. Everything is lovely about it, except for one seemingly small but very large problem..

The wig has hand tied mesh on top, so any colour underneath it will show through quite distinctly...

I still have patches of my natural dark hair on my head so it shows through the mesh... This makes the mesh look black and therefor looks like fake black mesh on top of my head. It is a very well made wig, but because i still have some dark hair underneath, it is detrimental to point of having a hand tied top.

I know most peoples solutions will be the following but, I am not okay with bleaching my hair or shaving it off.

Wearing a wig everyday is enough of a nightmare as it is, and I am not about to go adding something like that to the routine. If i continually bleach my hair, i am putting chemical toxins into my scalp, which may result in my hair never having a chance to fully grow back, and just sounds like an awful thing to have to do every few weeks.

If i shave it, (ive done this before) it can be itchy, and when it starts to grow out it rubs against the wig in an uncomfortable way.

I was wondering if anyone had any helpful suggestions? It is very important for me to have a wig that looks very real, and the reason i ordered this is cause I wanted something really nice. Most of the ones ive worn in the past just have a mono top, so they have a more opaque white skin top, so my hair underneath doesnt show through. I'm wondering if my only solution is to go back to just wearing those.

MY IDEA FOR A SOLUTION:

Would it be possible to sew a very thin, breathable piece of white fabric into the top of the wig, something semi-opaque or opaque, to cover up my dark hair shining through? But how would i sew this in properly without getting hair caught in the threads? Or would it be too hot? Would it have to be a super thick piece of fabric to cover it up enough?

Any thoughts or suggestions could be helpful. Has anyone else gone through this? This was a not a problem I could see coming. I feel very frustrated by this because i feel like thers always something wrong with the wigs i try out. Either the fit is wrong, or the top doesnt look real enough, or the hair is not soft enough or something!! I thought with this one it might be the one.

I am going to talk to my wig lady about this as well, i'm hoping she has some suggestions.

Thank you so much

Can you wear a wig cap underneath it?  You don't say if it is HH, glueless lace, or synthetic ? What are you wearing?

Its human hair, its a lace front that can be taped or glued.

Im not really willing to wear a wig cap as it would be too hot,and part of the point of ordering this particular kind was that its really light and breathable..summer is coming so im trying to minimize the heat on my head

Understood.  It wouldn't be appropriate for the type of wig you have anyway.  I know about trying to minimize heat !!!

for sure. i talked to my "wig lady" and she says sewing in the piece of white fabric might just work...im just worried about where it ends at the hair line...it would have to be so close to the colour of my scalp in order to work...ahhhhh isnt there always something?!?!! hahah all wig wearers know this feeling. you can buy the best wig out there and still there always seems to be a glitch.
