Hello all, I am new here although I have been lurking for months... I have been losing hair since August of 2013 and now have several quarter to half-dollar sized spots all over my head but mostly on top where it is most difficult to hide. Since October I had been receiving steroid injections but have had no success...my derm now thinks it may be scarring alopecia. I had a small dime-sized spot back in 2007, when I was 37 and it responded very well to the injections. But now for some reason I am not. Does that necessarily mean scarring alopecia? I thought I should get a second opinion and searched for a derm that specialized in scalp disorders. I currently have an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic with a woman who is a scalp disorder derm on Thursday (I live in Pittsburgh, PA). My scalp has been itchy, inflammed, sore and sometimes feels like someone has put their cigarette out on my scalp! Been using many essential oils, aloe plant, taking tumeric for inflammation, biotin, fish oil, vitamin D, B and also take magnesium and CoQ10 because I am a migraine sufferer. I also receive Botox injections every three months to help with the migraines (all over my head and neck) and it has helped but I often wonder if that is what triggered the hair loss in the first place. Any way back to my question... I have noticed that I have started to shed eyebrows, maybe a few a day in each eyebrow...as if I wasn't terrified before!!! Is it a slow process or do you look at yourself one day and they're gone...poof!? They are also a little itchy.:/ I am totally freaked out!!! I mean I just ordered a topper and that took every bit of confidence I had, now this?!? I am going to try to start using Latisse to maybe be a little proactive... I don't know. Has anyone tried Latisse for eyebrows?

I just started using Latisse on my brows about a week ago. Nothing yet. Does anyone know how long it will be before I can expect to see anything?
A little on the left, but very little on the right. I saw someone about tattoing yesterday but I'm leaning against doing it. As a guy, I want the 3D affect of real eyebrows. I may consider headcovers if I don't get some growth in the next couple months. I also have injections into my brows every 6-7 weeks.
You?
From what I have learned everyone is different (shocking I know). I went from seeing hair fall out to bald in one month. Eyebrows and eyelashes took a few more months but I feel like I saw a bald spot in my eyelashes and next thing I knew they were gone same with eyebrows. For me I know nutrition is linked as I have celiac disease. Start eating based on Auto immune protocol diet. Do blood test to reveal any thyroid or iron deficiencies. Other than that rogain/latisse/biotin(anything else that claims to help) whatever you can who knows if this will help but worth a try!
Hi,
I'm on this forum on behalf of my teenage daughter. Last summer she lost her eyebrow and lashes on one side. She didn't want to use Latisse as we were warned it could leave brown spots on the iris of the eye and she has blue eyes so didn't want to chance it. I did a bit of research on-line and came across a product called Lashipix which claims to have no side effects or colouring of the iris. Please note this product is not FDA approved nor have any clinical studies been conducted. We went ahead with it and she started using it middle of August, 2013. By November 95% of her eyebrows and lashes had grown back. She now uses it a few times a week for maintenance and every time she fears a spot is cropping up. As I mentioned on another blog I'm tempted to pour it all over her head and see what happens! This product worked for us, so maybe it will work for you. I can't remember exactly where I ordered it, either their website or amazon. Hope this helps.
