questions about telogen effluvium and regrowth

I have been getting pimple like bumps all around my hairline where alot of hair fell out. Does this mean that there is hair coming in soon or something else? Just curious to see if anyone else has experienced this and could shed some light on this for me. Im hoping it means regrowth but it is alopecia so its hard to say.

My son is 7 years old and lost all his hair. recently we have been noticing with his hair regrowth it starts out with little bumps like chicken skin, then we will get little tiny white hairs. It did take a long time for his natural color to come back. I guess everyone is different I can only tell you what I have experienced with my son. Hope this helps.
