Hi, Everyone. I was just curious. I have had Alopecia since 2013 not sure the exact date I started losing my hair. I first noticed in July 2013 by November it was almost completely gone, so I shaved my head. I also lost all my eyebrows and eye lashes. I will not get my hopes up but I do have what I think may be regrowth, its baby fine, white and some small spots with my natural color. I know some people on here have full regrowth but then lose their hair again. Is that what my hair is doing for the moment?? Is it normal to have so much white hair after losing it? Please I would like to hear your stories and if anyone knows what is happening or has experienced this with their alopecia.

Chrissy,
I have lots of white hairs, but none that are normal colored, after losing and regrowth several times I would eventually grow only those white hairs, I wish I had a better answer as to what they mean I've posted questions about them myself. I don't feel they are gray hair because they are so white. I think it is more hopeful to you that you have some that are normal colored I would be encouraged if I had any that we're pigmented. Please let us know how it progresses.

Christine, Thank You I will keep an update as to the progress, in hopes that if what hair I have stays or the natural colored hair stays, maybe it will help others with hope as well, it is nice to know what is happening, and an idea of why the hair is white and that it seems to be normal.

Chrissy,

I have had alopecia areata since May, 2012. I lost 60-70% from my head, then much came back, mostly very fine and very white. Since then, some has changed color and is more normal. But much is still white "frogs fur" as the girl who cuts my hair calls it. I've lost my eyebrows and lashes and they don't want to come back at all. I'm hoping for more regrowth. Hang in there. It's normal for the white hair to grow.

MJ. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope that your hair continues to come back! Frogs fur I like that :) . My eyebrows and lashes I don't see a change in those for me yet either. Again Thank You for sharing your story and information to the white hair. All the best to you!!

I have the same thing and I keep shaving all my hair back down tight to my scalp because I have a lot of normal colour spots that grow fast. I call them my crop circles :) Did your white hairs turn colour after they reached a certain length? I'm wondering if maybe I shouldn't be shaving it off.

Vicki, I have mostly white hair that is at least a couple inches long, and baby thin, but so far the entire length of the Hair is white. I hope to have more crop circles :) (I like that name too!),with my natural colored hair but so far the natural colored hair is just a few hairs here and there on my head. I am very glad to have any hair at all besides if its white, we can be like Storm (From Marvel Comics) lol.  Thank You for sharing your story!!

Thank You all again for sharing, I am relived to know that I'm not the only one! At one time my mom was panicked because it was white, she wondered if I was exposed to something toxic, all the people she knew that lost their hair, it grew back their natural color. It made me question it "Why is my hair coming in White" I wish you all the very best.

Thank You
