Rogaine 5% made my scalp itch and burn really bad. In less then a week my hair started to shed again. What is your experience with rogaine? I am sure the rogaine restarted the hair lost cycle.

Hi Angie
I started 5% Rogaine foam 7 weeks ago and 2 weeks later progressed to 15% Rogaine liqud version. I had 50% hairloss with small peach fuzz quarter of an inch on all patches. After my 7 week routine I now have about regrown my hair to have only 35% overall loss (the patches appear to be closing in the same way as I lost the hair) and all patches have a manageable 1 inch+ of peachfuzz. I have not experienced any itch that is near unbearable only VERY slight flaking. The version of Rogaine I use is DualGen-15 NO PG:15% Minoxidil,Azelaic,Retinol,Caffeine. Its available on Ebay. The downside to Rogaine in general for AA is that I dont think it will stop the next big shedd that is lurking around the corner. It may speed up regrowth however AA is like trying to control a bush fire and no way of knowing when the maddness will re-ignite itself again.
Hey Bibby,

My hair have been growing, spots are covering up. I did restart the rogaine, as per my Derm. I think the inching and burning might have been the AA and not the rogaine. Have your hair every regrow and fell out again? Let's hope "This is it" and there is no more bush fires.
Hi again Angie.
The Rogaine that I use is the best for non-itch.Its something to do with the "No PG" in the incredients. I cant believe how tolerable it has been compared to the standard 5%. To answer your question, the answer is yes. Many times. But its different for everyone obviously. Good luck with the routine.
Thank you Bibby for the reply.

Angie ... one of the main things that happen when you first start using Minoxidil is that you will go through a temporary shed which can last up to a couple of weeks. The reason why is because Minoxidil causes all of your hair to shift into the growing phase. Usually half is in the resting phase. The shedding just means that your scalp is producing new stronger hair. After the few week shed phase the hair will slowly begin to fill back in and you should start seeing positive signs of regrowth by the 4th month of continuous twice daily use. Ive done a lot of research and Im also going to be using Rogaine as soon as it arrives at my house some time this week. Good luck and I hope this works for me too!!!!!

Hi bibby,
I wish I'd known about the special formula rogaine, I used it for a year at least, but then developed a sensitivity to it and had to stop, when I did I lost most of my hair, I tried the foam, which was worse, an I think started the whole reaction in the first place, I might look into ordering what you suggested, even tho I've buzzed my hair off now. Rogaine, really worked for me.

Hi Christine. Its getting more and more difficult to source the 15% version with no PG. You can source it on Ebay mostly. Type in Minoxidil 15% on ebay search and it usually has about 3-5 sellers. Its not cheap though as its £45-£55 per bottle.
