Has anyone tried using long-term glue or tape to attach a one to two inch front hairline? It makes sense to me that I should be able to wear a front hairline for a week at a time. The hairline should give a wig a more natural look. Putting a wig (or hat) on should be easier. Thoughts?

If the piece attached is lace, the glue will clog it up in a very short time and attract dirt. Cleaning lace is a challenge because it can tear easily. If you use PU it will have some bulk and show.

I don't have experience with attaching a full lace or lace front wig. How are they attached? How do men wear toupes for several days or even weeks?

Thanks for responding. This is very helpful.

Men do often use glue or tape to secure the piece, but the head must be shaved clean, and I only use hair gel to secure the lace in front. The issue is that men's hair will not grow back, sometimes with Alopecia, it will. Bonding is ok if there is little hair left and it will not grow back, but for clients with hair and hope I do not bond.

In your case, you are only looking for an inch or two, I would say bond with polyurethane but only if the loss is permanent. There are pu pieces that are very thin, you could bond with one of these then replace it every month. How I would do this is to purchase a polyurethane piece, then cut strips to fit your front. This way you will get several pieces from one unit. The hair looks great on these pu pieces but does fall out fast. Still, this can give you the hair you need at a good price because you don't need a whole scalp covered.

Nope, no chance of regrowth. I've had AA since age 10 and it turned into AU about 15 years ago. At this point, I'm glad to still have nails.

Is there a particular glue that works better on oily skin. I'm also interested in one that is less toxic.

Thanks for the input; it's much appreciated.

Hello,

I use double sided wig tape to secure my wigs weather they are lace or not. I like the "Walker" brand because it last longer. My wigs are always secure and never slip and slide. You can use the roll or tape pieces.
