Hi - I'm trying to decide whether to go with semi-permanent brows. I've been lucky enough to have fairly decent eyebrows for a few years but in the past couple of months my left brow has nearly all gone!!

I've had a couple of consultations with 2 different semi-permanent make up artists but have gone away still undecided. Both of them drew what seemed to be very thick dark eyebrows on to give me an idea but I found it hard to say I liked them as its so different from my normally thin (but still noticeable) eyebrows..

I think part of the problem is that I have really dark hair so they say lighter wouldn't suit me, but I'm also scared that if I hated the look I can't change it for a year!

I've seen a Henna eyebrow pen so maybe that could be a middle ground as it lasts for a couple of days so I wouldn't worry about my eyebrows rubbing off..I also have a fairly thick fringe so maybe I could just get more clever with makeup and keep my fingers crossed that the brow will grow back!

If anyone has any experience or tips it would be good to hear from you, especially if anyone has had this done in Bristol, UK.

Hi Catherine

I don't know a lot about micropigmentation (tattoos). But I feel what always helps is to take your investigations slowly. There are some truly stunningly gorgeous ladies here that (hopefully) will be along soon with some great info about this process and what they have used.

My daughter never went down the micropigmenation track. She's a little like you at the moment and has part eyebrows. She wears the glue on, hairy numbers :), they work well for her. I think headcovers in the US sell them. I'm in NZ and I get them from Australia 'Feel Good, Look Good'.

I have a friend and she draws her's on and they look pretty fantastic, but I suppose that all comes down to using the right colour pencils etc. Last year at Naaf I bought some lovely colours for my daughter from Cheryn International, just google it, she ' has some good colours to choose from which stay on very well for my daughter.

Hope this all helps.

Hi Catherine,
I've had my eyebrows tattood in for 3 years now. It's the best thing I ever did.
Pointers...less is more. Dont go overboard with dark and thick. Go lighter and with a hairstroked technique. Find an artist that knows what they are doing. Check out www.athenabeverlyhills.com
Good Luck!

Rose Marie...I was thinking about purchasing some human hair eye brows...are they any good?xx
Hi Tracy

Yep Libby loves them. They work really well for her.

This is the place we get them from and they do deliver overseas. (I see you are in the UK). :)

Libby always gets the medium brown/Narrow. They really suit her face and she is able to wear them with her blonde and dark hairpiece.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Rosy! I bookmarked that page yesterday....so good to know of someone who has ordered from there and enjoyed the product! I still have my eyebrows, but I like to be prepared lol. xx
Thanks everyone! I've made my decision not to go ahead, maybe I will one day but for now I think I'll take my time, it could grow back and I have an appointment with a doctor next week. I'll be £300 richer which is always good!

Maybe if I change my mind in the future I'll have appointments with a lot more people that probably have long waiting lists. I think the 2 I went to see were ok but they weren't going to do what I wanted, and its disconcerting having someone draw on your face for 5-10mins, you think 'this is going to look great' and they've drawn some wonky, weird eyebrows on..in the second appointment I was speechless and when asked what I was thinking I mumbled something about groucho marx!!

Thanks for the site Rosy, I might put an order in. My henna pen came today from henna herbals and I'm really pleased with it. I think all I want is an option where I don't have to worry about my brow rubbing off, and being able to go away without waking up and running for the pencil. 1year+ is too permanent for me but 1day+ is perfect!!

Thanks for all your help everyone :)

Hi Catherine, I just got my Eyebrows tatood!! I love them.. I don't even know why I waited so long. I had great eyebrows before but they slowly went. When We first drew them on they looked very dark and huge there suppost to look like that Try not to be alarmed but work with them when they draw it on,tell them what you like and don't like so they can make them perfect. It's a two step process they do it once and then you have to go back within a month to go over it again,"The make it perfect" visit. There's also a few different tools that they have to do it with. A regular tatoo gun or they use a special tool and do it all by hand. That's what I did,lil more expensive but they look more natural I picked a very light brown incase I want to go bolnde or something.. Hope this helped:)~Steph~
