I have alopecia universalis (or close to it) and have lost my eyebrows totally.  My derm gave me cortisone shots in my eyebrows and they hurt like hell!  I am seeing some spotty growth in the spots that were injected but I am finding my eyebrows starting to twitch periodically.  Has this ever happened to anyone else?  I've only had one dose so far about a month ago...

Thanks for your response Bryce. Did you discontinue the shots because of the indentation or did they just stop working?
Ok thanks! I've seen some progress after only one shot but am unsure if I should continue due to twitching and dents
I had my brows shot up every 4-5 weeks, used Latissebat night and togaunenin the morning. The biggest side affect is that you can get indents in your brows. My. New deem also told me I need to get my eyes checked by an opthomologist because it's something that could add to getting glaucoma.

I have AT. Last Thursday, I got 3D brows. I'll know if I like them in a few days when they soften up but I think they'll be good.
Thanks! Congrats on the brows - keep us posted!

I was told by my dermatologist that they don't do the shots on the brows and lashes, because the skin is too thin and there's a risk of having indentations. I have had the shots as a child (but they stopped since I was a minor and other risks). I did try it once a few weeks ago and i still have the indentations on my hairline right now. I'm told that the indentations will go away (but it will take time). I did notice that I had like "Acne"-like bumps in one area of my hairline and it was super itchy. I'm not doing the shots anymore though.

Hello Sweet Pee, I understand.  I have the same thing.  At the moment  my brows do not have  alot of hair left however some of my lashes came back and they did so without the cortisone shots.  If you see small growth at the eyebrow then they are growing!   Eyebrow powder designed for thickning the brows might work for it is made to adhere to any amount of hair that is there, and can give the apperance of more hair.  Stay positive!

Thank you!!

I had shots regularly to my eyebrows every 4 weeks or so, and did not have twitching. I did have some indentation. After a couple of years or so, they eventually grew back, along with eyelashes and some facial hair (I am male...). I am not sure if my eyebrows and eyelashes grew back because of the shots or on their own.

Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Thank you!!

I have AU, I have had 4 injections in my eyebrows and I have now half my right eyebrow back and maybe 1/3 my left eyebrow. I have been on xeljanx for about two months at taking for 2 pills a day now at 3 pills a day, also getting the injections in my scalp and using a derma Rolla brush with also Rogaine daily, I feel hair stubs on my private, underarms growing also today I see stubs over half of my scalp, I think the injection I received on 04-12-16 and that's when I started using the Rolla brush with the Rogaine, did something my scalp tingles all day now on and out when I use the Rolla after my scalp really tingles purchased this  brush for 15.00 at my dermatologists office. She thinks I will do better with this treatment, called platelet rich plasma it is expensive, first treatment is 1100.00 I am considering it because, the hair growth is faster and know serious side affects like taking the pill. Lets stay in touch. Everybody be strong.
