Squaric acid treatments
I am looking for some opinions and insite...
A new Derm that I went to see this week at Hershey Medical center here in PA who is a Scalp and skin specialist has suggested I try squaric acid treatment.
Has anyone used this treatment and what is your opinion or outcome? I know everyone reacts differently but just trying to see if this is something I want to try.

I used it and all my hair grew back!! Was actually going for little crew cuts, went threw a bad divorce and it all fell out out again, but now doing it all over. And also she gave me a 1% compound to bring home to use every night and cover with a shower cap to keep the heat in and it's working, I'm starting to get peach fuzz! I'm so stoked. Just go slow and stay positive! Good luck!!

Are you in PA? I am in York PA and have AA but progressing very fast. I want to try the squaric acid or DPCP, but cant find any doctor/dermatologist who will do it.

Here is my 2 cents. Keep your money. I've had UA since 1981 off and on. Nothing will grow your hair for long term. It will just leave after you stop.
It's hard, but learn to just accept it and get a good wig.

hi, i was diagnosed with alopecia areata and you know there is no cure about it ... i ve tried visiting the best dermatologists in the country but nothing helps...

i will recommand all of you not to see doctors they do not know about this autoimmune disease ... this serum works great in any person ... the lines waiting to see this "doctor"are large waiting for hours to buy his product ... he sell in small quantity as result is so fast ...if you wait for doctors to help all the hair will be falling down ...

I used it for 3 months and was getting results on my scalp then 4 months ago I lost all of my body hair and now the acid is not working!! I used a low dose on eyebrows and no luck there either!

I had great results with it when I was first diagnosed with alopecia. then when I lost all of my body hair, it is not working now. it is expensive here in Memphis and insurance does not cover it!

The one thing I have to add that hasn't been mentioned by other replies is that there is some clinical evidence that indicates adding oral Fexofenadine (Allegra) to SADBE treatment improves outcomes and reduces the deathly itching.

Hi Becca--I was just diagnosed and in addition to topical injections have been prescribed Clobetasol Propionate and Minoxidil. I saw a specialist named Jerry Shapiro in NY, but I live in Central PA--which doctor did you use at Hershey and were you happy with them?
